I hate to take Bringer's name in vein, but God damn it, man. You just can't say that you scored a fight 8-4, then turn around and say that you didn't score the fight at all.
Every single time there's a big fight you can count on two things.
1.) There will be a handful of assh*les who can't properly score a bout who will insist that the loser was actually the winner.
and
2.) The aforementioned assh*les will then attempt to justify their ****ty scorecards by insinuating that - despite not even knowing which broadcast(s) the users who scored it for the winner viewed - everybody who scored it for the actual victor was somehow subtlely influenced by either...
A.) The crowd reactions to the punches thrown.
or
B.) The color commentary.
Typically, you can count two things happening when this event occurs.
1.) A more acerbic user (such as myself) will then call them on their bull**** outright, and publicly ridicule them for being such a thickheaded **** in the first place.
and
2.) The ridiculed user will then ask (or demand, in some cases) that the user(s) whom they diagree with subject themselves to watching the fight again in either slow-motion speed, or without commentary enabled, while providing a second-by-second round-by-round breakdown in order to justify their scorecards.
Of course, those of us with more than a few dozen fully functioning brain cells will never fall victim to such a fool's errand, but it's still infuriating to see that this is the standard level of conversation that takes places on this forum.
And you pricks wonder why I never post in NSB anymore.
If there was a NSB Hall of Fame this post would get enshrined. Brilliant!
Rios may have been cutting off the ring effectively (though he certainly wasn't in the closing rounds where the fight was won), but Alvarado was dictating the pace at which the fight was fought - Alvarado was the ring general in there. He also landed the cleaner, more effective punches, and was more effective in his aggression.
That's 3 of the 4 scoring criteria boxes ticked for Alvarado.
Rios had the edge in defense, but that was literally it.
Bottom line : Rios lost and you can't score for ****.

Brilliant.
On the real though : I'm still like 0-41 against emerald weapon.

dude why are you getting so worked up for. i merely stated who i thought won and stated my opinion on why the judges didnt give it to him why all this ******* prick and name calling.

No i did score it.
I just got a little confused towards the end. I forgot what rounds I gave who to but the count in my head after each round stayed the same. And I scored it 8-4 for Rios with nearly every round he won is feasable to score for Alvarado. But I gave them to Rios, cause he seemed to rattle him more. Sue me.
I know Rios dropped most of the rounds towards the end of the stretch but I actually gave him one of those rounds I think it was the 11th or the 10th the one where he "re discovered" his jab according to the commentators and seemed to have Alvarado slightly hurt again.
I also gave him a few other rounds where I thought he was slightly hurting Alvarado with his punches, although they were not the glamorous cool looking punches the that crowd and everyone acknowledges, but Alvarado was feeling them. They were very blunt punches. I see things that perhaps not everybody sees. But a lot of people get fooled by the appearance of the punch, were as I analyze them more and you can really tell by how Alvarado was moving away he was not liking Rios' power at all.
Due to the compustat number being so similar in # landed one would have to give the edge to the one who's landing with more authority no?
