This was a really a good fight to bad these guys won't enjoy their retirement, you can't take that many hits to the head with out some kind of damage.

This post starts out as a 'coulda' and ends with a 'shoulda.' Even if the referee hadn't stopped the fight the first time around, how the hell can you automatically assume that Alvarado would have went on to win?

114-113 and 115-113 is absolutely "getting the score" right.

It's actually pretty creepy that you'd refer to a complete stranger that's young enough to be your son as your "boi."

Rios has always been a 2nd tier fighter, he gets hit way too easily and is completely one dimensional.

Yup.. I agree, Alvardo is a tuff guy with good boxing skill that can move well, boxing well even when backing up, something I haven't seen Danny Garcia would be able to do.

Respect to Alvarado for the win, but if he had not run around for the last 4-5 rounds he would have been stopped. I mean boxed, but to be honest, he did a little more running that actual boxing. Meh I mean he did what he did to win but he got brutalized regardless. If they fight again Rios will come out like a man possessed and KO Alvarado, mark my word. Not trying to take the W away from Mike but he did kind of run too much in my opinion. Oh well a win is a win and he did what he needed to. The only way to beat Rios is to 1-2-3 move, 1-2-3 move, etc. (Abril & Alvarado). I would still pick JMM and Pac to win a UD over Rios but they could be in trouble because they don't have the legs to do box and move the whole time. They stand their ground enough to give Rios 12 rounds of opportunities. They may both beat him but they would both take a beating doing it. JMM has better skills than Pac so he may fair better than Pac would. If Pac could not stop Rios, he would end up getting beaten up.

Jones KEEPT calling people SON every few seconds during his commentating!! His use of the Cliché "Son" is an out of control wildfire.

I'm sry but the rios-alvarado fights just show how mediocre they both are. Their styles mesh well which makes for good fights but theyre both incredibly average. It's the same reason gatti-ward were good fights, two mediocre fighters that had styles that matched up well.
