dzinziruk, barker, macklin, and murray>>>ouma, proksa, rosado, and ishida you clown.

i love how these golovkin cum guzzlers act like martinez has been spoonfed for years. he just got his big break (payday) in his last fight. before that, he couldn't sell shit out and couldn't get the more known/top names in the ring with him. he had to fight guys who were willing and hbo would approve of.
also, martinez was noticed at 154. no one there besides williams wanted to fight him. vernon forrest even got stripped of his wbc strap for not fighting martinez. that story sounds familiar right? like sturm/geale and golovkin with the wba titles. when martinez couldn't get the top guys at 154, what did he do? martinez moved up to MW when he was 35 years old and 48 pro bouts in the bank. golovkin's only 30 with 26 pro fights.

i want to see martinez/golovkin as much as the next guy, but i'm not holding my breath for it. golovkin has a little more work to do (top 10-15 MWs to face) until he can truly say the entire division is ducking him. guys like martinez, quillin, and geale are just looking for paydays while they're in a position to demand one. you can't really blame them. at the end of the day, all these men are prizefighters. they fight for money. like arum said to dibella before being forced by the wbc to fight martinez, "get off your ass, build martinez up!". after all, martinez/chavez didn't happen overnight.
Adama just barely got by Grady Brewer, and Vera needed dodgy reffing vs Bondas last night lol. These guys are not a step up, and not HBO material. I'm sure HBO will try to do better, Geale, Macklin and Sturm have little going on and are welcome to step up to GGG for once. Rubio seems to be going in other directions (WBO or WBC), but he coulda took the Proksa or Rosado dates and wasn't too interested.

well i've seen articles where rubio said he was open to it (this was before he won the case against the wbc/chavez that made him the new no.1 contender). as for adama and vera, i was just throwing their names out there to show the different opportunities gennady has at MW if the other titleholders don't give him a fight. i'd rather golovkin defend his titles against solid/legit MWs than rosado or ishida type of fighters.
i don't expect hbo to greenlight all those names (after all, they didn't want to greenlight martinez/zbik when zbik was elevated to full champ and was undefeated). like i said in my previous post, hopefully k2 and hbo can make some serious offers to the better contenders at MW for their scheduled june date. that can make way for martinez/golovkin or chavez/golovkin later in the year if the negotiations for martinez/chavez II don't go well.

Rubio said he was interested a couple of weeks after passing, and having Rosado sign. He also could have showed any interest when he was in the running for the Proksa date.

Among the potential opponents who have been brought up are Marco Antonio Rubio (who lost a clear decision on HBO to Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in a title fight in earlier this year), Fernando Guerrero (a one-time blue chip prospect and Al Haymon client) and Brian Vera (who knocked out Andy Lee a few years ago and then lost every round to him in a rematch on HBO 13 months ago). I’m told that Rubio turned down the fight and that HBO (thankfully) rejected Vera. HBO would accept Guerrero, but there might be an issue between Haymon and K2 over future contract options. So we’ll see who they come up with for Golovkin

when was that article posted? because you posted a link to the tag "gennady golovkin" which shows all of the articles that mention him on one page (from latest to oldest).
either way, the proksa and rosado dates have passed. gennady has gotten more recognition since then. the falling out with gbp and hbo has created more room (imo) for the network to push/invest in other fighters. golovkin surely is one of them. i think with knowing his situation (top MWs being hesitant to fight him) they will either cough up more money to make those bigger fights happen, or they will allow more fighters to be on their network in order to televise his fights.

            EDIT: just found the article.

            http://espn.go.com/blog/dan-rafael/p...-to-start-2013

yeah, it was written in november. some good time has passed and more people know about golovkin. hbo also has more room to showcase golovkin (since this article was posted before gbp/hbo broke up).

Stop your asking too much from the god of war.

The announcer of the fight yesterday actually called him the second greatest fighter in the world behind Pacquiao.... Did anybody else hear him say it? It was actually funny.

The problem is that GGG isn't a big draw yet and he's too risky a fight to take.

GGG Vs. Canelo. A 160lbr that likes to fight smaller guys vs a Big 154er that should be fighting bigger guys. All joking aside, this could be a extremely brutal fight and who ever comes on top can finally get some credit! I know, I know, it will never happen!

Chavez Jr would be the right opponent for him with the winner facing Sergio, but Jr's a joke and has no intention of taking any dangerous fight unless it becomes impossible to keep avoiding it.

Golovkin's best hope of a quality opponent at this point is one who's coming off a loss and needs the HBO date to get their name out there again. But then again Macklin had that opportunity and fought Alcine for chickenfeed instead.

If Golovkin wasn't so good, guys would be willing to fight him. He breaks LHW's down with ease in sparring or crying out loud. I feel that guys at 154 and 160 simply do not have a chance against him and he should beat up on the top guys at 168 like Bute, Ward, Froch, and Kessler. I think he is the p4p best and most powerful guy in the entire game and can unify all divisions up to LHW if he moves up. If he agrees to certain terms, I think Ward might face him and I favor 3G by KO in under 5 rounds.
