I root for Lara, but I'm not a big fan of his. He's a very solid fighter, but his style is too inactive for my taste. He won't stand in front of Alfredo. Why should he? Erislandy can easily outbox the much slower and harder hitting "Perro." And why would Lara take a knee? He's never been down, in trouble, or even hurt. Erislandy fought through a large portion of his fight with P. Will with a huge knot on the side of his head. Angulo's career will take another step back after fighting Lara.
well see. all im saying if he gets caught its lights out for Lara but you are right...lara shouldnt **** and if he fights "abril" style i guess he will get a UD.
i was a fan of Lara up untill his fight with vanes. I watched that fight with some cuban friends of mine and Lara let me down. Boring fight. Thank God Mares was fighting on showtime that night and was able to watch a good fight.
lara is given a great opportunity to really shine here and head to his due title shot with canelo,he has the perfect opponent in front of him to look good/spectacular against, slow,no defense and no boxing ability, what more can he ask for in an opponent to look good against? he shouldn't turn this into a stinker of a fight it's the perfect fight/opponent for him to look good against,he should win by tko or corner stops fight due to punishment,no excuses for him not to win impressively and head into his mandatory fight with a great performance, not win because angulo just has gone down fast, but with a good performance,it's not going to look too good if he starts holding and headbutting and making it a stinker of a fight when he shouldn't have to against a limited fighter like perro
Erislandy only becomes impressive when fighting lesser opposition, or when he feels motivated. Unfortunately, Lara hasn't seemed too motivated outside of the Williams fight. He's capable of significantly more, in my opinion. Landy always seems to fight in third gear.

and fighting angulo is that,a lesser opponent because of how bad he has looked and he should feel motivated because it's his chance to look good against a limited fighter and just because he's fighting angulo, just the name I guess of the fighter, just no reasons at all for lara not to look good in this fight, make it a spectacular fight before he goes after canelo(if canelo wins) and I really hope it will be lara facing canelo next, dont want to see cotto get that shot,he's been losing and it just won't be a competive fight
I see Angulo losing unless he could do something to improve his stamina. It seems to me that Alfredo is always depending entirely on his power because not only he has not learned but also would be impossible for him to maintain movement, swiftness and good defense since it requires stamina. After his fight vs Cintron, Angulo defeated Rosado in 2 rounds, Yorgey in 3, Alcine in 1, Gomez in 1, Cazares in 1 and seemed to be prepared to KO Kirkland in 1 but it looked that "Perro" punched himself out losing at the end in 6 rounds showing a very poor training. In 4 years there were only 2 fights demanding something from Angulo: his victories against Julio in 11 rounds and the last fight vs. Silva that went the whole 10 rounds. In summary, Angulo has been a lazy fighter who in his last 20 fights (out of a total of 24 combats) has only gone the whole route twice: against Cintron and recently vs. Silva. That is real problem with punchers and the reason why if they don't KO rivals early most of the times end losing and looking bad.
And I should add that for a lazy fighter the worst thing occurring could only be keeping himself inactive which is basically what happened to Angulo during the time he spent in prision. He is now 30 years old and I believe that the wasted time would never be back.
