Why I picked Thompson and why I am again...
Price can't fight southpaws and has a lot of flaws.
He has no jab, its merely a range finger.
He is what Fury says; a big stiff idiot. He is a big robot, stand infront of him, he'll flatten you with that right hand. You show him movement and he can't pull the trigger! Forget the shot that hit him we know it was weak but focus on Thompson prior. Lateral movement now ask yourself not just about Prices defense but focus on WTF he was doing even prior..
What is he doing attempting an uppercut from there? Answers on a postcard!
Hes just to upright, too stiff and predictable.
Thompson beats him again in my eyes and by stoppage, maybe I am wrong Thompson isn't getting any younger but Price is ****! How on earth this big oaf won an olympic bronze is beyond me.
Amazed so many are picking Price again and the odds, unless Maloney had paid Thompson to lay down I don't see it and think he knocks Price senseless again within a few rounds. That was no freak shot, sure it didn't land perhaps where he wanted it to but he had done his homework and I don't care who is training Price, you can't learn much in a few months.

Trust me, Price does have a good thumping jab. He just doesn't use it anymore. I remember seeing one of his earlier fights against an unheard-of, and you could see power emanating from his jab. I think he's just had so much success with the right hand that everything else has fallen by the wayside.
What I will say is that he doesn't have a left hook to speak of, which could come in handy when fighters are trying to escape to his left.
I still believe Price has devastating power and can be a force in the division. His chin will always be a liability, but at 6'8" it won't be as much of a factor as it will for someone like Khan.

Never seen it apart from a prodding and what I'd call a half-jab and I think his power is insanely overrated. Hes done nothing but knockout non-durable stiffs who have stood right infront of him. He will never go anywhere, he is just big. Hes so unathletic and uncoordinated its ridiculous and to think people thought this guy would test WladWlad knocks this guy out in 1.
Nice guy but boy hes useless.

His skillset is indeed pretty rough, but tomorrows fight is really just a crap shoot. Thompson is old and out of shape, Price is stiff and doesn't box much.
Like another Fitz said in his prediction; If Price plays it smart and takes it into the later rounds when Thompson is feeling his age, he should be able to get the stoppage. If he goes for the KO early, he's just as likely to be KOd by Thompson.
Theres a reason Wladimir didn't move in for the kill even though he hurt Thompson early in the second fight. He established his respect and then opened up more as Thompson got tired.Last edited by paulf; 07-06-2013, 02:07 AM.

Thanks
I don't really rate Thompson but Price absolutely sucks. If Thompson isn't there to do a Johnathon Banks I have no doubt, he will beat him again.
I like Price; A big British HW, a gentleman, real likable guy but the reality is he sucks badly.
