A bold move by the plumber, but fair play to him. I thought Maloney might have given him 1 or 2 confidence builders first. Another loss would be disastrous.

thompson took the price fight for little money from my understanding & if he was to give him a rematch he wouldn't do it unless they paid him handsomely. thompson will be getting a nice payday i bet. before thompson\wlad 2 teddy atlas said the only HW who he could see beating tony thompson was the klitschkos. he was still training povetkin at the time & he said it live on FNF. joe tessitore even commented on atlas still being in povetkin's camp...risky move because the loss already set price back a year & if he loses again to a 42 year old thompson it will be catastophic to his career. i'm all for this fight but careerwise he is still the british & commonwealth champion. he could very easily take another route to get back in contention. john ruiz did it after tua crushed him in 19 seconds. he went on to win 2 world titles & never gave tua a rematch. i look forward to the fight & hope it actually takes place with no setbacks or issues. let's see if it was a touch of over confidence that actually plagued price or if he really isn't as good asw many of us thought he was. i do get a chuckle how quite a few posters here jumped off price's bandwagon. guys had him in their avatars or listed as their favorite fighter, etc & now he's a bum...lol! seen this now with price, mitchell & dimitrenko since i joined this sightLast edited by joe strong; 03-27-2013, 07:44 PM.

This is great; Price must redeem himself, and Thompson has the chance to prove the first result was not lucky. Most sensible fight for both men, Thompson must have been offered a good contract, considering he was complaining about getting underpaid after the first fight.

Price will always look like a fart in a trance opposite even a half-decent fringe guy.
i'll be glad to see him face Thompson again just so we can get rid of this oaf quickly and not have to sit through some tedious rebuilding campaign of undermatching him with ridiculously soft touches before he gets KTFO again by the first guy he faces who isn't a grandfather or a roadsweeper.
Frank Baloney is desperate. he needs money NOW, can't wait around to rebuild Price, needs to get his meal-ticket up and earning for him.

Pointless fight. Its not like it was competitive or even a war for several rounds until the KO.
Thompson KOd him in 2. Its like Haye giving Audley a rematch, complete waste of time.
Damn shame when Thompson could be fight wilder, fury, Cunningham, chambers, adamek or the winner of Arreola-Stivernz which are more relevant fights.
