Comments Thread For: Demetrius Andrade-Zaurbek Baysangurov in Talks

A possible showdown could be in the works between super welterweight world title holder Zaurbek Baysangurov and unbeaten contender Demetrius Andrade, promoter Art Pelullo told BoxingScene.com.

Art Pelullo, head of Banner Promotions, co-promotes Andrade along with Star Boxing Productions.

Pelullo further told Boxingscene.com that negotiations are underway with Baysangurov’s camp about a possible fight sometime in June.

Andrade, who is ranked number two by the WBO, is getting the opportunity to fight for a world title belt because he is the next fighter in line to face Baysangurov. The number one ranked contender, Vanes Martirosyan, was scheduled to fight on a Top Rank card in Macau on April 6th, but had to withdraw because of a thumb injury he suffered in training camp.

Speaking of the devil, good fight for Demetrius. He should be able to take Baysangurov out.

Vanes was going to get that title shot before he injured himself. The guy can't catch a break.

Props to Andrade's team for not being afraid of going to Russia for this opportunity.

Lol. This. Is it the new thing to always just say "my countryman will not win on the cards because he's fighting abroad?"

There have been no robberies in Kiev, and Europe in general has some of the most unbiased and fair officiating, in comparison to North America for example, IMO of course.

Germany is robbery central in europe, but not as bad as the US

Its funny how people bring up spots and say anybody who goes there will get robbed, while nobody has actually been robbed there but want the foreign fighters to come to the US where robberies are most frequent

I agree LMFAO, completely ignorant post.

Do we have to mention the gift decisions Devon Alexander got in his hometown against non-American fighters?

Kotelnik beat his ass so bad, Alexander was slurring like crazy in the post fight.

The Devon Alexander "robberies" were nothing more than him winning close fights.

Just like Carl Froch "won" a close fight in England against Andre Dirrell.
