What Broner did is, I think, the equivalent to the above. The overall value behind the money is divided by a smaller amount.

Stick to boxing your theories regarding fiat currency and destroying money are assinine and very wrong.

You lack the distinction between a fiat currency and a gold standard. Hint: the real decrease and increase in fiat currency is arbitrary.

So true. If you look at the list of rappers who are broke, guys who were balling just a few years ago, it sums it all up. I don't think Broner has the mentality to hold it together. It's the kind of situation where, after you've seen it happen to so many people, it just becomes sad and pathetic more than anything else.

I can see where they are coming from with wealth not really being expendable, but I think status can change. A wealthy person can become poor just like a poor person can become wealthy. Tyson was wealthy when he had $300m, but he's not now.
He earned a total of $300 Million throughout his career, he never literally had $300 Million on top of the fact that King was raping him. Guys like Warren Buffet are wealthy because they have residual money from countless investments (not boats), something guys like Tyson (or even Floyd) never had. You won't see guys like Warren Buffet ever have tax liens on their cars, homes, etc. For someone like (for example) Floyd to be making $70 Million a fight after all is said and done, and has received loans on top of having to pay back taxes isn't a sign of wealth. Like Reed said, Buffet can literally spend his money wastefully for 50 years and will never be broke.

At the end of the day...all these ****in people have more money than us, so...lol

Go ahead and disagree with my opinion or even argue that the analysis of the information I read is incorrect but don't accuse of me of being a troll because my outlook goes against what you view as common sense.

If my interpretation of the above link is incorrect by all means explain.
I understand this concept, but there isn't a fixed amount of money printed, as if there was 100 trillion dollars in circulation. So a guy burns a little bit of money, the buying power of the money is still the same and more will get printed.

The quantity theory of money is bull**** because it is replaceable.

the other difference is floyd/tyson money is salary which is taxed differently than warren buffets money which is mostly capital gains. Mikes $ 300 mil earnings were taxed anywhere from 35-50%, so he may have actually only pocketed $150 or so mil. He still owes taxes so my guess is he wasnt paying any. Buffets $300 mil capital gains isnt taxed as high, if at all. so the $300 mil is really $300 mil.

                Big difference.

I don't think what I'm saying is asinine or very wrong but I admit that I could be mistaken, it is not my area of expertise.

From what I understand the value of money is dictated by the government which would ultimately be limited by what they can guarantee. If the amount of money in circulation exceeds the amount that can be guaranteed then the overall value would diminish and vice versa

In the above circumstances the approach would probably be to destroy a large amount of money or print replacements that maintain a balance. So yes it was incorrect of me to say that his actions technically had an effect on the value of the dollar. I am sincerely grateful for you response.

It is a boxing forum so his actions are of some relevance here, the other **** that is going on in the world isn't.

                    • [QUOTE=Cuauhtémoc1520;13183167]For me it shows what kind of ignorant trash he really is. To throw away money is unforgivable with all the poor and hungry people in this world. He could have just given it away, instead of showing how rich he is by burning it.

He's not even rich, I mean even if he's worth a couple of million of dollars, he's not wealthy. It was like the 24/7 when Floyd was walking around with 100K in cash and a watch that was studded in diamonds, a gigantic chain etc and Oscar who is worth 10 X what Floyd is worth was walking around in jeans, a t-shirt and sneakers.

Shows you the difference in class.[/
