  • Why do guys slow down as they get older?

Like some guys get really slow to the point that it looks like slow motion compared to their younger self.

Why is there a loss of speed when there often isnt a loss of muscle?

What causes the loss of speed?

Your body starts to deteriorate as you age.

As for the specific biological process involved please just google it. Or pick up an old schoolbook from 4th grade or something.

Asking this question on an internet forum... Priceless.

              Read a book.

'mommy, why does brown stuff come out of my butt every day?'

goodness, this fellow's threads are becoming asinine.

to answer the question, a compound of factors. natural ageing, wear and tear from hard regimen + accumulated punishment (blows shipped), etc. mileage varies ofc, and an athlete may hold the inevitable off for a while if they're able to preserve themselves well in and out of the ring.

Actually, this is not that bad of a question, just bad wording.

The point I think he's getting at is why do some boxers "lose their legs" early in their careers compared to other fighters.

Some guys look good in one fight, and the very next fight they are slipping and sliding in the ring and can barely stand up.

It's as if they are trying to find the ground with their feet, but don't know where it actually is.

It's just early signs of becoming punch drunk (pugilistic dementia). As soon as they get hit, they lose their balance and equilibrium.

Sadly, I think Tim Bradley and B. Rios are falling into this category. Both are losing their legs. T. Hearns was like this in his later years. He'd get hit and his legs could not longer support him. His head was fairly clear, but his legs were like jello.
