Comments Thread For: Photos: George Groves Shines, Helenius, Beats Sprott

GETEC Arena, Magdeburg, Germany - Heavyweight contender Robert “The Nordic Nightmare” Helenius (19-0, 11 KOs) had to work hard to secure a ten round unanimous decision over British upset-artist Michael Sprott (37-20, 17 KOs). The scores were 98-93, 97-93 and 98-92.

Eddie Hearn's recently signed super middleweight contender, George Groves (18-0, 14 KOs), continues to stay very active with a second round stoppage of Baker Barakat (37-14-4, 25 KOs).

Helenius would have knocked Sprott out if not for his injured right hand.

excuse after excuse for helenius. he'll be saying next he hurt his jaw after getting ko'd and broke his feet as to why he couldnt get back up. chisora exposed him as not the best thing since sliced bread. if he was, would have ko'd him like haye.
also these pics do helenius far too much justice cos it looks like he fought hard.
and also, please george groves, get some new ring shorts.

Helenius looked poor last night but to be fair, he didn't need to get out of 1st gear that how poor Sprott was last night. I think if he pushed a bit harder it would have been an interesting fight. Sprott will be not happy rewatching that fight. Groves needs to step up in competition. No point padding up his record.

Helenius used to have the best skullet p4p in boxing... Now he got a haircut and is just a face in the crowd...

Helenius might be done as a top heavyweight. Time will tell.
