So Ike Ibeabuchi has a parole hearing in May this year

Think they'll let this nutcase out this time? He's served 14 years I believe.

If they do, he's immediately deported to Nigeria. From there, at the age of 40, one would reckon he would try to resurrect his boxing career as he could probably make some pretty good money based on his name/reputation alone. Would be interesting to say the least if he gets out.

Man Ike is truly a waste of some good talent. I think him and Tua was 1 of the best fights I've ever seen from some heavyweights. All we can do is speculate on how good he'd have ended up being, that's a friggin shame.

well yeah that's true for anyone who goes to prison or dies (edwin valero for example). Who knows what Ike would have become. He seemed destined to end up in jail though based on his rage and mental disorders.

The president was a really good heavyweight. I wonder if his mental problems stem from boxing. It seems like he was having the same problems that many retired NFL players have dealt with. I don't know if he can handle boxing any longer.

If he got out he'd probably take at least a year just to hang out with family and friends and re-adjust to life...and that is in a good case scenario. People who don't have that support structure around them when they leave prison are more prone to recidivism...and even moreso for those who already have a mental illness. I wonder what kind of support he would have if he got deported, I'm sure that is a big question at the parole hearings

He'll go back to Nigeria and probably get aids and be murdered. He's probably doing everything he can to stay in jail. It's the best hell ever have it

There is no more for him in boxing, he may miss where he is once he gets out and has no where to go.

Boxing is probably the only thing he was ever good at. I say continue fighting. Its more money he is ever going to make now. He could still beat lots of guys especially on his continent . But, thats if he has looked after himself in jail
