I hope you're referring to this guy, because we both know what he's insinuating and that is taking it too far.

It is what it is and people have a right to believe what they believe. And a Boxer's life is a public life. I back fighters like Ishe Smith, Antonio Demarco, Austin Trout, Andre Ward, Delvin Rodriguez, Abner Mares, Glen Johnson because these guys are humble. I do not back arrogant fighters with serious issues.

Probably someone that tried to prove he was a tough guy against a pro boxer and paid for it.

Not totally sure on the facts of this one though. If he was defending himself, then that's fine. I don't see why he'd be arrested and fined so much for defending himself though
No, they aren't. Athletes are not role models, nor should they be. A football player should do nothing but play football, and a boxer should do nothing but box. Anything outside of that is just that - outside.

Until the last few decades, most entertainers and athletes couldn't even read or write. They're not responsible for social change, and it's not our job to hold them accountable for it. It makes someone a great humanitarian whenever they as an individual decide to become a role model or change something themselves. It's not an obligation.

Yes they are and athletes have always been role models. Who do you think Young athletes and kids look up to? Not everyone has a role model in their life and some boxers are perfect inspiration.

Saying something is right because it 'has always been that way' is a weak philosophy to say the least. If someone happens to provide a great example and also happens to be an athlete, that's an exception and is a great thing. However, it doesn't mean that all athletes are obligated to be role models, because they aren't. Running fast and making lots of money doesn't qualify a person to be a role model and doesn't obligate a person to be one.

I don't think you actually understand what I'm saying.

That was the one and only time I ever addressed that comment. What's your problem?
