Hopefully this convinces CBS to be a bigger part in the boxing scene. There are going to be some names who won't get on all the cards they want each year.

this is actually favorable to showtime...now they don't have to outbid hbo anymore to get gbp fights. they can even afford to lowball purse offers to gbp fighters because they have nowhere to go.

they don't have to worry about network competition anymore...they have gbp fighters locked in. if anything, this is negative towards fighters.

If they have limited dates do you reckon there's going to be stacked undercards now?

all those guys mentioned used to fight exclusivly on HBO so don't see a problem fighting on Showtime but I think other networks will get more involved and this could be great for the sport if CBS gets involved

Im sorry but HBO knew what they were doing and the ones that will come back crawling will be GBP when they find out Showtime doesnt have the cash to pay for all thgeir fighters.
Agreed 100 %. GBP has been taking HBO house fighters to Showtime when they don't get exactly what they want. HBO will not be held hostage by GBP. GBP will not get enough $$$ and dates to have all their fighters on Showtime. They better pray CBS puts on more fights or they'll be begging to get HBO dates. It's one thing to get Money May,Canelo, and Broner becasue they will/are going to PPV stars for Showtime. It's another thing to get dates and $$$ for their whole stable. Welcome to GBP on Fox Sports Regional anyone ? HBO even signed their new collaboration with ESPN. Schaefer needs to have a 3 sit-downs and stop all the bull****e. One with Old man Bob to end their fued and do business again. #2 with HBO and explain that they get the message about being ******* moving fighters as threats. # 3 with Al Haymon to explain that he and Old Man Bob are not BOXING,Fighters fight and boxing is boxing.

Hopefully CBS steps up and starts airing some fights.

Other than the three I mentioned, i'm sure with $20Mill they'll pay all of these guys this year, and that is actually too much, I just threw a number out there. There's a lot of guys on that list that are worth 6 digit numbers.

Per fight basis [These are just my numbers, these #'s are not fact]
                Mayweather $25Mill
                Cotto $4-8Mill
                Canelo $2-3Mill

                Trout $1.5-2Mill
                Garcia $800k-1.5Mill
                Broner $1-1.5Mill
                Hopkins $2-3Mill
                Ortiz $ 1-1.5Mill
                Malignaggi $1-3Mill
                Maidana $500-800k
                Mathysse $500-800k
                Guererro $3-5Mill with Mayweather/ $1-2Mill on average
Mares - No idea [$1-1.5Mill maybe]
                Quilin No idea, 600k-$1mill
                Khan $1.5-2mill
                Kirkland $400-800k
                Lara $1mill
                Ponce De Leon $600-800k
                Russel Jr $500-800k
                Thurman $500-800k
                Peterson $800k-1.2Mill
What if these guys fight 2 or 3 times a year? That with other boxing promoters add up. Do they have enough dates? GBP best either make dates on same card or not clash now. HBO fighters won't work with GBP either.

Yeah they should and for fighters that can't pull on ratings they'll get cut from the picture.

I can see stacked ppv happening like the ones older people on here talk about with 4 championship fights all with good fighters.

                  It's nice to dream.

How many fighters period do over 1 million? TR doesnt have a ton that can do that high of numbers either.

If Guerrero beats Mayweather (and that's a big if, I know) Showtime is going to be in a world of hurt. Guerrero even if he wins will never bring viewers or subscribers like Mayweather has/will. All of ShoSports' eggs are in Mayweather and GBP. Other than Mayweather and Canelo nobody else gets Sho in the black and I guarantee you more than 50% of Sho's budget is in on May'.
