A mil on showtime is a bigger deal then it sounds. They have 22 mil subscribers, so 1 mil viewers is 4.55%. HBO has 30 mil so 1 mil is 3.33% of viewers. So taken as a percentage comparison, a 1 mil viewership on Showtime is equivalent to 1.52 mil viewers on HBO

I dont agree with this anyway. Networks should be buying fights and not fighters or promotions
They're not going to like that and that can cause turmoil.
And with the budget, that leads to limited dates.
Like when people got angry at HBO for blowing their budget on fights people didn't care about

Also if I was NBC Sports I might be looking to get a bit more involved with GBP since boxing is one of the better things they have going. They might want a bit better fights on their network at least to give it a go.

Floyd will take most of the money, so everyone else will have to take a lesser cut

the answer is no. which could end up leading to more and more ppvs or fighters leaving golden boy to sign with promoters who are working with hbo.

They'll pay Mayweather, Cotto and Canelo what they are worth. The rest aren't really that expensive.

Other than the three I mentioned, i'm sure with $20Mill they'll pay all of these guys this year, and that is actually too much, I just threw a number out there. There's a lot of guys on that list that are worth 6 digit numbers.

Per fight basis [These are just my numbers, these #'s are not fact]
              Mayweather $25Mill
              Cotto $4-8Mill
              Canelo $2-3Mill

              Trout $1.5-2Mill
              Garcia $800k-1.5Mill
              Broner $1-1.5Mill
              Hopkins $2-3Mill
              Ortiz $ 1-1.5Mill
              Malignaggi $1-3Mill
              Maidana $500-800k
              Mathysse $500-800k
              Guererro $3-5Mill with Mayweather/ $1-2Mill on average
Mares - No idea [$1-1.5Mill maybe]
              Quilin No idea, 600k-$1mill
              Khan $1.5-2mill
              Kirkland $400-800k
              Lara $1mill
              Ponce De Leon $600-800k
              Russel Jr $500-800k
              Thurman $500-800k
              Peterson $800k-1.2Mill

Floyd isn't part of the regular budget, unless Showtime loses money in the PPV deal.

It's not like GBP only has Showtime. There are a lot of other networks that show boxing too. Epix, WealthTV, Fuel, and ESPN all show boxing. This could be an opportunity for more fights to wind up on Network TV too.

Honestly this could end up a good thing. It could force GBP to get creative and start selling fights on places we would have never thought.

For everyone acting like showtime can easily pay for the GBP stable of fighters, you are correct but unfortunately you will now only see fighters once a year for the most part.. The max, twice. Fighters just will continue to be inactive
