He got back up didn't he?
Would Bradley have been KO'd in the first round if a knockdown had been called?

impossible to say. Had he called it a KD its possible that Bradley would have stayed on a knee until 7 or 8 (like he did in the 12th) and wouldnt have been as wobbly. It's also possible he would have risen too early and fell, likely resulting in a TKO.
But thanks to the moronic Pat Russell we'll never know........Comment

I think the argument is, if the knockdown was in fact ruled a scoring knockdown, Bradley would have been TKO'd by proxy of the fact he got up and fell back down again, that is an instant stoppage, as people have said look at Tsyzu's KO of Judah. Even after getting back up the second time Bradley fell back into the ropes. I'm fairly confident that if the knockdown was ruled the fight would have ended there. The ref couldn't stop the fight because he ruled it a slip, he had no choice but to let Tim regain his composure and let the fight continue.
However it wasn't stopped and Bradley did well to grind out a decision in a competitive fight.Last edited by Grimmer; 03-17-2013, 12:13 AM.Comment

Its a judgement call not a rule and if it is a technical ruling, when Maidana got KD vs Ortiz.. got up and droped back to his knees is taht technically a TKO?I think the argument is, if the knockdown was in fact ruled a scoring knockdown, Bradley would have been TKO'd by proxy of the fact he got up and fell back down again, that is an instant stoppage, as people have said look at Tsyzu's KO of Judah. I mentioned this in the other thread. If it indeed was deemed a KD and got up, fell back again like Zab isn't it supposed to be stopped? I know that it seems to be up to the refs discretion (we ve seen people rumble around beire) so who knows. Bradley would have had time to rest, but so would Ruslan and gives him time to calm down. Anywho, I thought Ruslan edge the fight by a point but i had two 10-8s which I realize is uncommon.
The best way to look at this is Ruslan won the FIGHT, but Bradley won a boxing match.
I think the ref should have stopped it once or twice though. Timmy was throwing at times during his hirt moments but they did nothing.
But you know what? He gave Timmy the benefit and Timmy showed him he made the right choice. I just hope Tim is okay he took a LOT of damage... Worred about him actually. This is a career changing type of fight.Last edited by NearHypnos; 03-17-2013, 12:27 AM.Comment
