but seeing as the subject of numbers has been raised, i shall address that in my next passage.

before i proceed, allow me to state first that i certainly do not think you are dumb if you scored the fight for Pacquiao (i might question a lopsided card).

i reckon Bradley could do better than 10%, but you know what? the most relevant stat to pull out wouldn't be the portion of the hypothetical opinion poll that scored the fight for Tim, but rather the portion that felt it was a close fight which could conceivably have been scored either way. that portion might be bigger than you'd expect, especially since some observers revised their scores upon rewatching the fight.

allow me to restate my thoughts on consensus. i was referring to press-row consensus at the time, but my comment applies generally, too.

the bolded text explains my reasoning as to why i don't think we can infer reliability from the consensus, regardless of how widely it may be skewed in favour of a conclusion.

i make it a personal rule to never make the consensus my chief method of supporting my argument. i may mention it as back-up to a more exhaustive analysis (and even then i shouldn't). i do think it's weak reasoning for one to state their opinion of who won a fight and then refer to the consensus as chief support of that opinion, as many so lazily do.

i already spoke my piece on press-row a few pages back. i believe at least one of you fellows read it, but just in case it was missed, http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/sh...8&postcount=28

from a guy who's been ringside enough times, there is no perfect seat in the house. watching on HBO is as good as watching from CJ Ross' position.

i don't know how Floyd managed to get into this convo, but i don't recall many people saying Bradley dominated and should have had a wide UD, Floyd fans or not.
lol you discredit everything. Go ask the people you credit and trust dearly I guarantee you they'll say Pac won the fight(at least most of them). Go ask your mom she will say Pac won the fight. I asked my mom today she was like I think Pac won the fight.

I can bring you polls that favor pac 90%+ with 8,000+ people voting. You discredit all those people as well? and those stats are not hypothetical at all bro.... http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1...ial-scorecards scroll down and view poll.

You find me a group of 50+ people that favor Bradley. That has to be 51% that favors Bradley. Don't even bother because it won't happen.

Anyway what I'm trying to say is that the majority will always think Pac won the fight and that is not hypothetical at all. It is the truth.

I have my evidence laid out for me. The press, public polls, media, unofficial judges, your mom, my mom etc. all favor Pac.

You have 0 evidence. And if you do bring some I will discredit it just like you discredit mine see how you feel about it.

Actually, bring me what you got because you can't bring any even if you tried.

BTW Bradley and Ruslan Provodnikov was one hell of a fight. I'll be watching that again.
