No duh. Mayweather is just overhyped by American media. Most fans are there to see Guerrero,Ponce, and Mares. Its Cinco de mayo, for crying out loud! The rest is a mix of *****s and casual fans that just hate him and wanna see him lose his O. Nobody likes someone that hugs, elbows, runs, and pushes for half the fight.

In a big fight they want well promoted they sometimes will just pay the small ($4-5) seat tax to the local authorities, which is very cheap advertising to have a "sold-out" arena).

Haven't heard any talk of ths lately, people have forgotten about it.

A large part of the art of making money in boxing is to con the public, trainers do it by giving out misleading training bulletins (Killer McCoy is punching harder than ever..) promoters do it by the baloney they advertise to sell the seats etc. Writers do it if they like or are friendly with a manager or fighter.....

I qualify this by saying "not everyone does it', but i believe it's ingrained in the system.

I would have no problem with it because tickets for a Floyd fight in Vegas would sell out even if the casinos and brokers were somehow cut out of the loop.

If there was no fan demand then the scalpers/casinos/brokers wouldn't be asking for the number of tickets that they are.

I think tickets are 65-75 % either sold or taken by sponsors, fighters and promoters before they make them public. How obvious that all center tickets were all gone by noon and a good amount of $1,500 corner tickets remain. It's pathetic and fustrating to support this sport, and yet we boxing fans lie to ourselves that this sport is still hot and heavy, when it's not. We try to feed ourselves with informaton as much as possible to stay positive about boxing, but the sport treats us fans like crap. It's a shame that we have been boxing fanatics since the 80's and yet we can't even make it to a big main event. But the rich people that can afford to go, get their tickets compt, basically for free.

Get a bigger venue for Big Main Event Fights! Simple

The $200-$300 seats don't even go up for sale on Ticketmaster.com. I think if you live in Vegas you could have went to the MGM and bought them at the box office though.

This is true for all Mayweather and Pacquiao fights.

But Cotto was a much bigger fight/event and numerous people were able to buy tickets at super steep discounts in the days leading up to the fight. So I know for Guerrero it will definitely be true. If you absolutely want to go you will be able to get tickets the week of the fight.

For Pac/Bradley the brokers were having real hard time unloading the tickets and people were getting the $1,250 seats at steep discounts. I can see Guerrero being a similar situation.
