Comments Thread For: Floyd Mayweather vs. Robert Guerrero is Nearly Sold Out

LAS VEGAS - When tickets went on sale Tuesday, March 12 for the May 4 WBC Welterweight World Championship mega event featuring Eight-Time and Five Division World Champion Floyd "Money" Mayweather against Six-Time and Four-Division World Champion Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev., the public responded with a massive rush to the box office and online ticket outlets.

Within twelve hours of going on sale, less than 1,500 seats remained for the Cinco de Mayo weekend event. It's obvious fans are clamoring to see boxing's biggest attraction, Mayweather, return to the ring against the determined, hard-hitting Guerrero in addition to a second world championship bout between WBC Featherweight World Champion Daniel Ponce de Leon and Two-Division World Champion Abner Mares as well as a soon to be announced roster of top flight undercard action.

nothing new here. Mayweather continues to break records but haters will make excuses as to why.

Face it, Mayweather is the best thing to happen to boxing.

This article is so misleading as someone else stated and I will confirm they didn't actually publicly sell a ton of tickets. The day the tickets went on sale there were less than 5,000 tickets available at the time they went on sale. Floyd selling 5,000 is no surprise, what I want to know is for people like me who were interested in going to see it live what happened to the other 10,000 plus tickets?

Brokers and casinos. All the ringsides, middle sections and nosebleeds go to ticket brokers, casinos, employees, family, friends, etc.

They only sell expensive lower level and mid-level corner seats to the public.

So they are sold to brokers or casinos but they are sold. Yes it sucks cause it will raise prices and just because some of us cant buy the expensive tix doesnt mean they are lying

I get that and all but my thing is then comes fight night and we see tickets up to 50% off just hours before fights. Look at the Hopkins fight at the Barclay..the rafters completely empty but you couldn't find a damn ticket anywhere. Same for Martinez vs Chavez, same for Garcia vs Morales 2. I've looked into the Brokers for this fight and most i've reached out to weren't able to get tickets to sell either..unless they plan on having 8,000 journalists I don't get why even limit ticket sales to 5,000.
