He looked a bit average against Cleverly. He was passive in there.

He must be better than that showing, surely?
But yeah it's a waste to have Hopkins in there with him because it's just a cakewalk. There might be some value in it if Hopkins was going to fight in his home town or something.
Hopkins should fight Cleverley is Wales. I'm not convinced Clev could sell out the millenium like Calzaghe but if he could that be a pretty historic event.

But it'll be interesting to see what Hopkins decides on this one : He has a tremendous amount of respect for the IBF which has been well documented.
It's a terrible fight though, it will be as action packed as the second Roy Jones fight.
Why Murat as the mandatory I have no idea.

I'd much rather Hopkins fight Cleverly and I'm not even big on that fight either.
But if Murat is an option he should fight Cleverly instead. Cleverly beat him and is a Champion.

We all know how he is about making history, and this fight gives him a perfect opportunity to do that yet again.
Plus, at this stage of his career, people are going to tune in anyway just to see if he can continue to defy nature. So any backlash he'd face would be minimal. At best.

you have to respect Hopkins. so many fighters today totally ignore the obligations that comes with having a title.
most guys duck mandatories left and right. high risk low reward, the excuses are many. the sad thing is a lot of fans don't call out their fighters for ducking mandatories and don't appericate when a guy like Hopkins actually do the right thing and fight them.
