As for Toney the timing was never right as Toney was at his prime early in his career and then quickly ate his way up the divisions.
I never said he had a huge size advantage. Im just saying its kinda like Floyd. AT SFW he doesnt fear anyone because they are all on even turns but when you are 4 or 5 divisions higher and giving away 15 pounds in the ring and even more than that naturally, its night & day.

I say the same thing about Cotto. People use to hype him for fighting everyone but these guys were his size. Why should he fear them?

I wont rip Hopkins for Toney and I wont even rip him for Ward now but there is no no no excuse at all for the RJ fight. 1st off I thought Hopkins gave him hell in the 1st fight when they were younger. Then you looked at how great X looked at 175 later on, that tells me he wouldve easily had looked great at the catch weight of 168 for the RJ rematch.

People wanna rip Floyd & Pac for not fighting but that rematch was equally as big from a pure boxing standpoint and it was 100% Hopkins fault that it didnt happen. You cant deny that. RJ was a bigger star, P4P #1, coming down in weight after all those years, and already beat you. All he wants is 60/40. 60/40 and the fight is done. I still talk about that til this day. I probably rather even see that fight over Floyd-Pac.

Thats how great I think Hopkins was. I think RJ is one of the best to ever do it and I still give that Hopkins a shot to win. Thats how much respect I have for Hopkins and he never went for it. Thats 10x worst than anything Floyd & Pac did because 60/40 was nothing when you go by everything I just said. It was more than fair for RJ to offer that and Hopkins says no

Even for De La Hoya, people say Oscar was way too small, it wasn't fair they say. Yeah but wasn't Oscar giving Bernard alot of trouble? Oscar was giving Bernard more trouble than Trinidad did! Sure he wasn't fighting at his best weight, but nonetheless even the De La Hoya win was a really good win.
