Is the B-Hop way of thinking crazy?

Is there something really wrong with wanting to be regarded as GREAT? Taking the best competition, no ducks, no easy opponents..

I think you can be great and take the big money fights at the same time, or maybe it's the fans fault that most boxers want big money fights because they know we will buy them, just because there is a Mexican, Rican or someone from our race or country on the card.

I often wonder the same thing sometimes brother. Mares for example tried to fight either Nonito or Rigo. Then someone on boxingscene asked if Mares made a mistake by moving up to fight Ponce. Mares wants to be great, but not say a canelo's type of great, really great. Worthy of the "Great' moniker.

Or the Punisher 3 weight classes at the same time looking to fight the best, he was hated. It's almost as if boxing fans have forgotten how great fighters are supposed to behave.

Look at the hate B-Hop gets. The guy is striving for greatness, not by just running his mouth, but by doing great things. It's easy to say, "well so & so is great", then have to engage in a lengthy dispute as to why this (great) fighter is currently robbing a nursing home, lol.

Hop reminds me of that old man on the bus, juss waiting for that fool to make the wrong move. Leaving him leaking waiting fo an amabalance. Or that old guy in the nursing home who snuck a shot gun underneath his wheel chair~~

Exactly, how can they hate a guy who actually wants to improve upon his LEGACY, it like fans have grown accustomed to accepting easy fights and ducking. I feel like I am crazy in feeling that I want to take the biggest baddest guy on the block and take him down.

This is what I would do if I was a boxer, I want the Number 1 or most dangerous opponent out there.

I'd like to see him fight Andre Ward.

I disagree with your assesment that Hopkins has done anything diffferent from others. 1st of all he fought in one division for a million years. When you fight in one division then you dont fear anyone. Its not like you are fighting bigger guys. You should fight anyone who is your same size.

Then he moved up 2 weight classes and fought Tarver but that was for 2 reasons. 1 is that he was huge enough to do it since he did stay down soooo long. 2 is that he lost twice to Taylor at the end. When you lose its easier for you to take tougher fights because its the only way to get to the top. Everyone fights the best when they lose or they cant get back to the top.

Then you look at him now and its the same thing. He's had losses, he's big enough where he's never at a size disadvantage, and he's playing with house money because of his age. If he wins then great and if he loses, they can say because he's nearly 50. Lets not act like he fought everyone. Never fought Tony, is using the "friend" line with Ward now, and most of all didnt have the rematch with RJ after the Tito fight. RJ was the bigger star, #1 P4P, and most of all he had beat you yet you wouldnt fight him for anything less than 50/50. It was a joke.

With all that being said, Im the biggest Hopkins fan there is but he's not perfect and there is a reason for everything

there is nothing wrong with wanting to be great by fighting the best competition. but the "best" compettiton almost always depends on who the person is and how a fan feels about them. same with easy opponents. I mean if a guy has power it doesn't mean he isn't an easy opponent-same as if a guy can box and move and isnt a pucnher/brawler that doesn't make him an easy opponents.

Bhop is in a good position right now. he chooses who he wants to fight. the better fighters in his weight class tend to be the ones that bring the most money. That said, I doubt he fights campillo though. And I dont see why he should.

That's why I simply cannot be a fan of Floyd or Pacman, hell even Martinez as of late. These guys get up there, are recognized as the elite of boxing, then boom, start the beat the bum campaign. And their fans are always there making up excuses as to why this (great) fighter isn't fighting the (dangerous) guy & is gonna fight this joke instead.

Simply put, I ain't supporting no fighter that I need to make excuses for. I'm not a banker, promoter, adviser or none a dat. I'm a boxing fan that would like to see the best fight the best. All I know is I don't think SRL or Hearns would have been dat great if the wbo champion & the wbc champion at welterweight decided to duck each other in 1981.

                  question:

you said campillo beat cloud. bhop fought cloud. then if he doesn't fight campillo and fight cleverly is he still fihting the best or his he check chasing?

It's funny when people say Hopkins is huge and had a huge size advantage when he's the same size as a kelly Pavlik or Jermaine Taylor, difference is he's better than these guys and takes much better care of his body. Hell he weighed 156 pounds before and regularly weighed 157/158.

As for Toney the timing was never right as Toney was at his prime early in his career and then quickly ate his way up the divisions.
