I'm trying what to make of Cleverlys decision to stay with Frank Warren...

I guess he is now the poster boy of the promotional stable...

One of the worst things about Warren at the moment apart from this mess is that Frank Warren hasnt changed the ticket prices of the event :/

doesnt a standard BBBoC approved boxer-promoter contract say something about the fighter being given matches every 6 months minimum? wasnt burns last fight v mitchell in september? so if vasquez got pushed to april isnt that technically a breach of contract? last time i checked, if someone makes a material breach then you are free to terminate and walk away. after all...ricky got bills to pay like us all dont he? all his opponents lately have a lot of bad luck dont they..walsh in a car accident, ocampo's manager dies, vasquez gets the ****$....oh and look...the accounts for any and all en****** that allegedly has his name on is in debt or insolvent...and you wonder why it changed it's name recently? thats called 'trading on reputation' ...no1 has heard of w.promotions...ergo...clean slate to some. ricky is better of out of it and anyone ****** enough to remain deserves all they get...which will be 4/5ths of fk all!!

My understanding is that you cant just do what you want if you are contractucally obliged elsewhere. If anyone could just walk out on a contract then everyone would be doing it and there would be no point in having contractcs in the 1st place.

Adam Smith has gotta be careful what he is investing in. He went with Matchroom because he wanted to get away from the IBO/WBU/ pointless title fights Frank use to put on and signed Eddie instead but from what I saw on Saturday Eddies show in London was pretty poor. Not 1 competetaive fight. All home fighters vs bums to pad their records. Isnt that what Adam wanted to move away from with Frank.

did rees get broner? and enhance his reputation in the states? did brook get a crack at alexander? ..when alexander quits stalling...has bellew now got a stronger rep than the guy that supposedly beat him?...is froch the #1 fighter in the UK?...u are getting saggy t1t over 1 card...look at the bigger picture. people got more respect for kal yafai who is a rookie than they do for cleverly who is a world champion...

as for the contract...its been breached. no1 would have made a move without being sure that ricky was bullet proof and frank couldnt write a £100k chq as security for costs on the bellew case without it feeling rubbery. my understanding is that if ur promoter doesnt give u regular fights in line with the terms of the contract then you arent earning which means u arent eating so u are free to f off to someone that can feed you.

Frank says people might get paid late but they do get paid. Yeah, he can't pay them on time even though he's got millions stashed away.

Don't be silly. These moneyed people don't have "millions stashed away". nearly all their assets are invested, and if they're clever, which I'm sure they are, cash becomes free in graduated amounts and times. This way, it's always working.

They hava accessable "emergency funds" of course, but paying a fighter on time isn't an emergency-at least for the promoter.

I'm sure every contract has contingency clauses like injury or sickness of opponent, or war, or other emergencies which could cause postponement or cancellation, and any penalties or forfeitures would be duly noted down.

what if its confirmed that there was no contract with vasquez in place in the first place?
what if it gets referred to the BBBoC (who fwank stuck 2 fingers up to last summer) and they side with wicky...
what if fwank takes it to court and the court look to the BBBoC ruling for guidance?
what if frank doesnt have the funds or the appetite for a fight? he didnt for tony B
what if sky have the appetite for running fwank out of town so they can monopolize boxing via matchwoom? they have the funds and the muscle.
fwank is in a corner and the only stool he has to sit on is brown and squishy! imagine having bunce and lillis as your cornermen...feeling confident? me neither!!
