Either Goldenboy has a ton of confidence in Peterson, or they simply hate him.

His opponents over his last 6 fights have been tough, and it does not seem they are looking to make it easier for him either! LOL

But that is the way it should be.

The only thing I hope is that Khan fights Matthysse, Peterson or Garcia in the fall before getting a shot at the "undisputed" champ. All sports work like this. The #1 team gets the easiest opponent in the first round.

The way I would design it is:

      Spring 2013

      #1 Garcia vs. #5 Judah

      #3 Matthysse vs. #2 Peterson

      Fall 2013

      Winners of spring 2013, and

#4 Khan vs. Garcia II if Judah wins, or
#4 Khan vs. Matthysse if Peterson wins, or
#4 Khan vs. Peterson II if Mattysse wins

      Spring 2014

Winners of the fall 2013 fights
Losers of the fall 2013 fights on the undercard

Yeah, I think Broner & Khan needed to be in this lil tourney, maybe against each other. I'm still trying to figure out why he's fighting Paulie instead of heading to 140. I hope the fans demand the winner of Rios Alvarado gets soma dat action.

The Golden Boy/Top Rank feud makes those tournaments pretty much meaningless. How are you gonna have a 140 lb tourney without Rios? or a 147 lb tourney without Bradley? The winner will not be the best but simply the "golden boy champion".

Peterson just signed to GBP a few weeks prior to the Holt fight, so they didn't have anything to do with his previous match making. Besides it was Peterson who wanted Matthysse not the other way around.

In a best case scenario the winner of the Matthysse/Judah/Khan/Peterson/Garcia tourney will face the winner of the Rios/Bradley/Pacquiao/Marquez tourney.

Hopefully Golden Boy throws the losers of these fights in with each other, not just the winners.

It kind of sucks that Peterson and Matthysse are fighting each other right away, even though I'm stoked for it. That's a great war between, IMO, the two best fighters in the division. Whoever loses will probably be buried, because they aren't enough of a name to risk putting the hyped fighters against them.
