Yes he lost, so why should he get to inject himself into a tourney of winners (-Zab). Those are the best guys not Khan. I don't think it's protecting him, he got his shot already - he's lost and is irrelevant to this right now. Who knows if he's even there or if politics go in another direction. He's been sent packing to the uk to face nobodies just like a lot of KO victims do, if he can make it back out what's the big deal.

So he should have replaced Judah and rematched Peterson like NATAS said. Those would be the 4 best guys at 140. He's irrelevant and the way to becoming relevant is by facing nobodies while theres a tourney going on? He's been sent to be protected

Exactly why should he be out of the picture? He gets 2+ years of nobodies while everyone else gets the best and then the winner gets him? SO what if he faced 3 of the 4? He lost to 2 of them. He's not gonna fight the loser of those fight, they will pose a huge risk and have no belts coming off a loss.
It also accomplishes the goal of protecting Khan and having him face nobody

He fights Diaz the very same day of the Garcia-Zab fight. Lucas-LP doesnt happen until the following month. If the winners fight eachother then that means Khan has to definitely have another fight.

Now the question is what have you seen from Khan's career to tell you that he either wont fight in that time or he will fight a bum? 2nd, he's at a point in his career where its now or never. There is no doubt in my mind that he's going to fight somebody decent after Diaz/before the end of the tourney.

I bet anything he fights a Maidana rematch, Ortiz, or someone that you will find acceptable. Stop trying to paint it like dude is a cherry picker or is being protected. He's not. He's on the outside looking in and he's not going to waste time fighting 2 average guys. The next guy will be a legitmate step up

Khan has two losses he's the odd one out ... Garcia and Pete haven't lost to anyone in the "tourney" so they fight the two guys who have losses ... And the winner of those fights face eachother...

Yeah, he's back there to rebuild and take on some guys he should beat, we know that happens after big losses but this isn't like Bute being insulated his whole career...Khan has already come over and tested himself and was not really that protected, that is what I meant when saying he's already fought 3 of the 4 when those guys yet to really mix it up. I guess I'm just saying that it seems easier to leave him out since beating him doesn't mean much right now. If you include him guys will be falling over themselves to fight him, there's no way Garcia would fight Matthyse in the first round. At least there is a path to that now

If everything goes as planned, there will be one fighter that emerges as the true champion at 140. So I love this idea.

The only thing I hope is that Khan fights Matthysse, Peterson or Garcia in the fall before getting a shot at the "undisputed" champ. All sports work like this. The #1 team gets the easiest opponent in the first round.

The way I would design it is:

Spring 2013

#1 Garcia vs. #5 Judah

#3 Matthysse vs. #2 Peterson


Fall 2013

Winners of spring 2013, and

#4 Khan vs. Garcia II if Judah wins, or
#4 Khan vs. Matthysse if Peterson wins, or
#4 Khan vs. Peterson II if Mattysse wins

Spring 2014

Winners of the fall 2013 fights
Losers of the fall 2013 fights on the undercard

I think you need handle GBP for that to happen. I didn't understand part why winner fights Khan. Khan lost badly and looks really vulnerable.

I think Broner - Malignaggi makes sense from a business standpoint for golden boy. Broner jumps up to 147 gets a belt and Golden Boy has another angle for promoting him to the general public making him look better by jumping up from 135 to 147 and taking a belt. I don't like the match up but I think that might be why they did it

Makes no sense (unless of course they have some agendas ).

Logically this is what we should have got:

Garcia vs Matthysse
Peterson vs Khan II
Broner vs Judah or Khabib Allakhverdiev
Thurman vs Paulie

Instead Broner is fighting Paulie which makes zero sense. Matthysse isn't fighting his mandatory, Garcia is fighting whack ass Judah and these winners fight eachother THEN fight Khan?? Lol Khan's the king now?

I dont think its that bad the way they have it. I have no poblem with zab/garcia and matts/petersen. Done your way it minimizes money for thurman, paulie, matts and garcia. GBP would be silly to do that.

Broner and zab is also a urban niche fight and doesn't appeal to the widest possible spectrum.

Khan and Broner ultimately bring the most money to the table so it makes sense that they will be the "prize" at the end.
