Yes Rees was a stay busy fight because nobody else was available; Burns, Vasquez and Abril.

I like Broner, but I agree that he should fight Vazquez before moving up.

This guy says Vazquez has been calling out Broner for some time now, and Broner refuses to fight this Awkward fighter?

It's a shit fight. I don't like it at all. I'd rather have him fight Abril.

Clearly he wants to move up in weight. His options are:

          Garcia - Booked for April
          Judah- Booked for April
          Matthysse - Booked for May
          Peterson - Booked for May
          Khan - Booked for April
          Rios - Top Rank
          Alvarado - Top Rank
          Khabib - Top Rank
          Bradley - Booked for March
          Guerrero - Booked for May
          Alexander - Booked for May
          Brook - Booked for May

Plus, if he were to move up to 140, he wouldn't run through the fire right away. He would fight a guy like Kendall Holt or Zab Judah first to get accustomed to the new weight.

It's possible Paulie is that "step up" Judah/Kendall Holt fight for moving up in weight.

So while this fight sucks, what matters is what happens this fall.

            True.... Not debating that

What I'm saying is we keep hearing lets wait and see what the next move is going to be

After DeMarco..... Its not really much to talk about for a "3 division world champ" provided he beats Paulie as expected

Vasquez was available right after the Broner/Burns negotiations fight apart.

He called Broner out and said that he is willing to fight him on Feb 16th.

IBF lightweight champion Miguel Vazquez (33-3, 13KOs) has a single Christmas wish - to fight WBC champion Adrien Broner (25-0, 21KOs) on February 16th at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. Golden Boy Promotions is trying to get Broner in the ring with WBO champion Ricky Burns. There are problems in the negotiations, with the Scottish fighter requesting a lot of money to make the match happen in the United States.

true but this one is solid and its 2 divisons up so its still passable. Now if he comes back in the next fight and its some dude from Germany that youve never heard of then he deserves to be killed but I have a feeling that he'll fight someone like Molina next or something like that. Maybe Gamboa at 140 or something. I think he'll fight someone decent. If not, then thats when everyone should blaze him

They're probably grooming him for the BIG fight in the division. Next step for them, most likely, is to either call out Mayweather or Pacquiao. Of course, Money Mayweather will not be willing to hand over the torch.

HBO paying out money for this matchup is a waste. They should give their subscribers better value than that.
