I don't think it's that he won't lose fights, I don't think he makes it to 30 wins undefeated. He's just obnoxious. confidence is a built, arrogance is earned but obnoxiousness is uncalled for.

With that said, Paulie could make it an interesting fight, regardless of losing or winning. I think Broner will have a second chance but it'll be a big deal if he loses. Paulie won't get much credit for it unless he pulls a Mayweather/Gatti type beating OR he knocks Broner out.

Otherwise...I'm not sure if Paulie will do it...Time to watch some Malginaggi fights, again.

Him losing is a big deal, even where he's currently at (and especially against Malignaggi). With Floyd gone, GBP and HBO are trying to put this kid at the helm and with a loss now I wouldn't say it's back to square one, but they would need a new gameplan / approach on how to market him because they're marketing him just as they did with Floyd once he beat Oscar.

If he went up to 147 and fought a Pacquiao, Mayweather, hell...even Bradley, then you can say "Well that was too quick a push", but considering Malignaggi is as feather fisted as they come, him getting outboxed by even this version of Paulie isn't a good look either.

Like it or not, Broner is being pushed as the next Mayweather, casuals will accept him as the next Mayweather, and he will get hated on for losing as if Mayweather lost.

So losing to Paulie Malignaggi would shatter a lot of opinions and hopes HBO/fans have for him. Depending on the way he lost, maybe he could rebuild himself to that level, maybe not.

Why are we talking about HBO here? Paulie fights on and works for Showtime. If he was to fight on HBO I doubt he would keep his commentating job. IMO...

But then again HBO has invested so much on Broner. Is his contract up with them or would they let him fight on Showtime?
