If people think he gets himself into the condition where he can beat the division's best at 48 by eating celery sticks and jumping rope they are very naive.

Big De la Hoya fan. Hated Hopkins when he beat Oscar. When Bhop signed with Golden Boy and bought stock into the company, I started following his fights!!! After he schooled the young undefeated buck Pavlik, I became a fan!!! Was astounded with what he did to Pascal !!! And now this slick victory over Cloud !!!! This guy is the greatest inspiration for all the 30 n 40 something year olds out there, heck even the 50 something year olds. The guy keeps defying father time!!!

Easy to say in hindsight that the Hopkins win was easy to predict. You can't predict how a 48 year old will react in a prizefight. If everyone here was so certain you should have bet and made money...i did

He beat the undisputed champion when he was 46 (which is the all time RECORD) and tonight he beat a top 5 fighter in a division without a champion (Dawson doesn't deserve it lineal or not).

                B-Hop #1 at LHW baby.

He would beat Cleverly and Shumenov would be easy money. Just stay away from the scary Russian.

Good point but this also applies to Pacquiao's record of winning titles in 8 divisions.

Can't believe he still has that footwork. I'm reluctant to call it a masterpiece performance because he made it look so routine, he didn't even have to bring out the expensive brushes or special paint. There were some blueprints on Cloud but damn he figured him out very early. LOL I guess the old man just keeps on going then, he looked fine.
