Julio Cesar Chavez also forced Whitaker to come down to 145 instead of 147 for a welterweight title bout.

Oscar De La Hoya forced Bernard Hopkins for the 160 Middleweight championship bout to be held at 157.

Titles shouldn't be handed out for catchweight fights. Beyond that, it doesn't matter at all. If two guys aren't the same size but will make for a good fight, find somewhere in the middle. 152lbs isn't automatically worse in some way than 154lbs because a sanctioning body says so.

Of course going up hurts! If you're a lightweight trying to make yourself a welterweight, you're at a disadvantage against a natural welterweight.

Karma didn't catch up with him. JMM caught up with him. A guy he's fought with 3 previous times. LOL.

The Pac detractors didn't fool me into thinking that those fights were lop sided for Manny either.

last time I checked, Manny fought JMM after Floyd did. They were around the same weight come fight night. Manny wasn't moving down to JWW, and didn't want to go up and down. JMM really wanted the fight. Easy solution. Make it at WW, and no weight perameters. They both pretty much came in at a catch weight.

Not when your fighting former LWs and fight night weights are very close , your right when its a full blown big WW and he is not drained at all .

The trouble with fans not understanding how it works is they fail to see the big picture they just see numbers that have no real meaning to them .

History shows big WW can go up to MW even LW , and in Hearns case CRW , small WWs dont make MM very well .

Guys dont go up and fight big guys of the division they fight small ones , can you imagine Jones and Lewis , thats why he chose Ruiz , not a big HW and very slow .
