whats wrong with fighting @ a catchweight?

i believe that makes an even fight between weight divisions, ppl bash pac man for fighting bigger guys @ catchweights but its still a fight 2-3 lbs is not gonna make a difference even mayweather said when going up to 154 the weight didnt make a difference skills pay bills but with a 160lb martinez a fight could be made @ a catch weight. I think the catchweight just makes a even fight and the winner shouldnt b discredited

Because it's almost exclusively to give one fighter an advantage.

Example, Cotto wanting a catchweight at 150 to fight Margarito and ending up at a 153 limit. He clearly wanted to take something out of him.

Sometimes its to get an advantage, sometimes its to exhibit power. Williams had sergio do a 158 catchweight and Cotto had Marg do a 153 catchweight, both did nothing to affect the fighters and never would.

Catch weights have been around for a hundred years. Its only used to discredit fighters by people with an agenda.

Making weight is sometimes difficult and fighters have to drain themselves to be kept under the limit. 2lbs to the average man to a professional fighter are different things.

I felt like Margarito was shot when he fought Pac, plus Pac asked for a bigger ring for that fight. Although he did get his soul taken by Mosley so who knows.

Theres nothing wrong with them cos we live in a day and age where fighters use different weight class to avoid other fighters so if a fight gets made when otherwise it wouldnt be made its all good.
So long as both fighters it wont effect how they are able to perform so cant make excuses afterwards. If you dont want to fight CW then please dont sign the dotted line.

I don't have a problem with it, as long as there isn't a title at stake - Then it's bull****.

Not when the guy coming down is weight drained and the guy going up is stronger .

Pretty much. If there was a catch weight in place for the Ward/Dawson fight, we wouldn't have seen "zombie Dawson".
