Gary Russell Jr. vs. Nonito Donaire at Featherweight

Would kill at least 2 or 3 of you to see this fight some day soon.

I honestly think Russell would beat Donaire if they fought right now (well maybe not right now seeing how Russell just broke his hand).

this fight should be fun to watch the 2 with crazy hand speed, even tho seem like Russell might be faster..

Donaire should stay at 122. Russell is a very good prospect while Donaire has been KOing champions for many years and is far more proven. I rate him #1 pound for pound and think he can spot Russell 4 pounds and still beat him right now, probably by KO since that is how Donaire usually wins. Later if Russell beats some really good fighters I might give him a better chance to beat Donaire but I still have to go with the proven fighter. Russell does have some great hand speed and combinations but Donaire always gets the job done.

Gary Russell jr. might technically have faster hands, but it's all flashy speed.

Donaire has a purpose with each punch.

I was actually impressed with how short Russell keeps his punches, not really flashy speed. I am not convinced he has power yet, but its definitely not Devon Alexander speed, all flash and no ****.

Russell is all flash, although he does have a decent right hook which shows great pop when it lands. I think Donaire is still the better boxer and would be for awhile. Donaire would be a serious test that Russell would probably fail.

Another insanely fast boxer, who is not just combinations and flashy shoe-shine, Donaire has skills and would even have a 6-7 inch reach advantage over Russell.
