One thing going for Broner, ironically, is that he's not a great defensive talent. He's going to be part of exciting fights provided HBO and Al Haymon give him quality opponents.
exactly..but since when does getting knocked out not hurt your legacy? tommy hearns is tommy hearns (great heart, will, etc) and have my respect but he was getting his ass whooped by hagler, didnt gain nor lose respect from me by taking that ass whoopin.....

I agree but he's still young and growing, i'm quite sure he'll sharpen up...and take on better opponents

It did not hurt his legacy because his decision to **** with Hagler was instrumental in that fight becoming a true classic. For me, it's not about W/L results but the fact that the sport was gifted with an iconic fight.

Again, I invite anyone to cite one Floyd win that out-wows the EXCITEMENT of Hagler/Hearns.

Everything Malignaggi said is true. But you have to give him not only the DeMarco win, but also the Litzau win [coming off of beating Caballero], the PDL win which was close, and the Escobedo win.
