No one can bash a Paulie Malignaggi, This piece is just the transcript of the interview which is posted a couple notches below this piece - so in essence its the transcript. Everything Paulie said is true ! I remember Paulie since his espn days, he was very brash and confident ! The cotto fight humbled him, but the cotto he fought was a ANIMAL and he got shafted on the ring size etc.. Paulie made himself into what he is - he has earned it, so broner bandwagoners need to show respect , like he said this is a very hard business !! Broner is getting main event checks for fighting bums - period ! I think the kid is GOOD, but you are trully only as good as the comp you face, and for as long as HBO has been in this Game they should know it even better. they are doing a disservice to Broner, because Gavin was touching him, and was up on the cards over the first 2 rounds ! Not even too far back like when De La Hoya, Vargas , trinidad, mayweather etc.. they had sink or swim fights at this stage of their careers, Floyd would have blasted Gavin out of there sooner or it would have been a shut out leading up to the 5th round KO - What really is a telling point of the building fighters up and giving them a false since of bravado is with what i heard went down at the mayweather / ghost promotion with the green screen back ground. I heard broner was there talking shyt to guerrero at the shoot, when I can recall the ghost traveling to a weigh in that broner was attending and walking up on dude to where broner had nothing to say? See cats like floyd / guerrero / and any other vets have the right to talk ish, because they where brought up in a different era to where they have proven themselves - that was total classless, and it will get him hurt in the near future ! Broner is very good, but in this game you are only as good as the comp you have faced !!

Most def, the victor of a great fight deserves gold in increased rep. e.g. Hagler's KO against Hearns. But for me, Tommy's legacy was not hurt by that loss. In fact, because he went all-in against Hagler and helped create an unforgettable event, he probably gained more respect than had he gone on auto-pilot pot-shot mode for the entire 15 and gotten a UD.

One thing going for Broner, ironically, is that he's not a great defensive talent. He's going to be part of exciting fights provided HBO and Al Haymon give him quality opponents.

I don't see any problem here, where exactly did Paulie lie? I know it flames people's tighty whiteys but it's time someone says the obvious truth most boxing fans have been quietly thinking for some time now.

PAULIE is saying the truth! I respect PAULIE since he fought COTTO to a decision with a broken face in early rounds,COTTO was a killer as superlightweight and PAULIE fought his heart out;PAULIE has right over EDNER CHERRY and he fought CHERRY in his carrer,EDNER CHERRY is a lot better than GAVIN REES.

I hate to harp on this, but Broner best not emulate PBF too much.

As a boxing fan, a perfect record means fcuk all to me. Because when I want to bring up one Floyd win that outshines Tommy's epic loss to Hagler, I come up empty.

paulie telling it how it is. broner will beat paulie but there is no way broner retires without a loss. he isnt on the floyd level.

Good interview from Paulie, i like how he says it how he sees it.
Agree with his opinions on Broner, Thurman and HBO.
