That's what I've been saying! These networks (Showtime does it too) waste tremendeous amounts of money trying to create stars instead of matching the best vs the best until greatness rises to the top.

Malignaggi is very confident that if he indeed takes on Broner he will be Broner’s toughest test to date and will come out victorious. The always candid Malignaggi didn’t hold back as he said he feels Broner has been fed handpicked opponents and also went off on HBO for being the ones who are responsible for it. I think a lot of fighters visit this website. I remember when a lot of boxers use to enter the ring wearing boxingscene T-shirts.

Why the hell not. he works for showtime, meaning he can talk as much smack about hbo as he feels. He'll he probably just earned himself a large bonus, lol!!

The thing is though, the sad thing is, is that he's right. But what's even worse is that which ever network televised canelo had done the same thing for him. But luckily, the training wheels are off & it's time to ride solo.

If Broner skips 140 & goes directly to welterweight, as much as I'd want to say he ducked the division, a 2 weightclass skip is still an impressive feat. All in all whether Broner goes to 140, 147, he's gonna have to fighter better fighters than he did at 135 & below period. Paulie put it on hbo & Broner real good that time.

The problem is greatness often lies in a foreign fighter (e.g. Matthysse, Golovkin, Martinez, Marquez etc) and they are a much harder sell to the US public.

broner for sure is an athletic phenom with great skills..
but its how you apply your tools, not just carry them around for show.

broner already has one loss against ponce, truly lost that fight with a gift...

                    second,

when he fights at 140 he has many losses coming...

im not saying he will lose to everyone of those fighters, but half of them he wont beat

this is why broner not trying to move up
