Verbal agreements don't mean anything in life when it comes to business. Doesn't just pertain to Floyd. Canelo has a lot of nerve to be talking like he is the biggest thing in the sport when this is his first legit fight (Trout) in his whole professional career as a champion. Canelo needs more people. His attitude is the same that these younger generation fighters have. They feel like they are supposed to make it to the top without working to get there.

You know full well Boxing is no longer about records and belts...it's about popularity. If it was about Skills Sergio Martinez would've earned $10 million a fight a few times by now.

LOL Nobody will ever say Gatti was the greatest. What he was, was a great warrior. Win lose or draw. As usual with Floyd he picks declining fighters.
Floyd beat up a man who was in no shape to be in a ring. Mentally or Physically. Especially mentally!
Plus he was sucker punched held down by the neck and hit by Floyd in the first round of that fight.

So what happened from round 2-6 then?? Total ass whooping... and wasn't Gatti champion?? At no point in his career would he have beaten Floyd... and still 43-0

No Guerrero is not a declining fighter. Nor do i think he is an easy opponent. But the topic we were on was Floyd and Gatti. I mentioned Floyd picking a declining Gatti, (like manny others) And just because he beat Gatti at that stage of Gattis career did not mean Floyd beat a young unbattered Gatti.
Bottom line his win over Gatti was noting to write home about! whoop de do!

Gatti is my ATF. Not for his skills or skin color or nationality. But for his heart and determination. His will. How he could lose and still sell out an arena the very next fight no matter what because you knew what you were getting when it came to Gatti. He was a throw back fighter.

What i admire in fighters may not be what others admire. I dont think Floyd is as great as he is made up to be. He may be more skilled in some ways than Gatti was, true! But in the end floyd beat a broken war ridden battered Gatti. We can only wonder what would have happen if Floyd called him out earlier!

U sound like a hater! I liked Gatti 2, but he was no where near floyd level! EVER! And yes it was something to write home to. Gatti didn't know where the punches were coming from
