Canelo beats Trout and then fights another big boy in Sept than maybe one more in Dec and he won't need Floyd by the following summer. He can fight Martinez for serious respect. Eventually Floyd will come to him

Certain things need to fall into place, people keep winning, and he still needs a win against an opponent that we all know is not a cakewalk.

As far as "OMG WARRIOZ!", I respect any man that goes out in front of thousands of people with the potential of permanent life long injury, or even death at an elite level. At it's basest form.

This board is 90% filler of "As the World Turns" soap opera shit, but by men.
No Guerrero is not a declining fighter. Nor do i think he is an easy opponent. But the topic we were on was Floyd and Gatti. I mentioned Floyd picking a declining Gatti, (like manny others) And just because he beat Gatti at that stage of Gattis career did not mean Floyd beat a young unbattered Gatti.
Bottom line his win over Gatti was noting to write home about! whoop de do!

Gatti is my ATF. Not for his skills or skin color or nationality. But for his heart and determination. His will. How he could lose and still sell out an arena the very next fight no matter what because you knew what you were getting when it came to Gatti. He was a throw back fighter.

What i admire in fighters may not be what others admire. I dont think Floyd is as great as he is made up to be. He may be more skilled in some ways than Gatti was, true! But in the end floyd beat a broken war ridden battered Gatti. We can only wonder what would have happen if Floyd called him out earlier!

I don't think Floyd will fight Canelo in September like people are assuming. I think Floyd will retaliate for Canelo not fighting on his card, by not giving him the big pay day. So it's like this, you get on my card and help me generate 100-200k more PPV buys, and i'll sign to fight you after I beat Guerrero. Yeah Floyd verbally agreed to fight Canelo, okay, but Canelo was publicly acting like he's running the show, giving ultimatums and saying he'd fight on Floyd's card "if".

Let's face it, those saying they were going to tune in to Mayweather-Guerrero because of Trout-Canelo, would not really shell out $50-60 dollars if Canelo-Trout was on PPV, they are seriously talking out of their asses. That main event by itself or even a good undercard, would do 200-250k tops.

Now a good debater can argue both sides, so I will also argue for Canelo and praise him for taking a stand and sticking to his guns and choosing to be on his own show against Trout. That is how you make a name for yourself in boxing, and with GBP getting his back, he has all the cushion in the world to get away with this. Canelo will be back in September if he beats Trout, with or without Mayweather and he will be perfectly fine, his career will resume and he will keep becoming more popular.

it's pretty ****** to turn down a chance to fight on a high profile ppv event in may to fight on regular cable in april, because you weren't promised a big money fight in september, when you're saying you're going to fight the same guy in april that you say you were going to fight in may anyway. personally i don't think he's fighting that same guy in april or any other time.

Verbal agreements mean d!ck squat. I find it hard to believe that Floyd would make an agreement in favor of Canelo getting the fight on his terms. Canelo basically made it seem like Floyd really wanted/needed him on his event and the only way to do it was to promise him a fight? That's bogus. Canelo hasn't even beaten Trout yet (He probably won't) but Floyd guaranteed him the big fight? Floyd was most likely talking out his ass. I said it before that he probably was like "yeah, yeah, yeah" when Canelo asked to fight him. Moral of the story is. $#!t ain't for real until it is on paper in black in white.

His first real test is in April 20 untill then he hasn't fought or beaten a top ten in his division how can he be in the drivers seat when it comes to negotiations . My opinion he's way to ****y for someone whose been pampered and aint really done shiz.
Do you just ignore what is written in the article or not believe it? Floyds team made the contract! How is that being in the drivers seat during negotiations?

Mayweather has just signed a Showtime contract to average a fight every 5 months. And there is no doubt but that Mayweather chose May 5th and wanted Alvarez to help boost the PPV. Mayweather isn't denying any of this-so far- and he tells lies anyway. I believe that Schaeffer also believed that there was a September deal.

Personally, I believe that if Mayweather, after having had 5 fights in 6 years, suddenly is going to fight twice a year-plus, He must be very broke and/or owe a lot of money. We don't know what he had to pay Pacquiao and/or Arum, but it was certainly plenty, he may have had to pay his father's and uncle's part too. The legal fees all around must have been a few millions alone.

wow more fantasy analysis what a surprise. floyd doesn't want to fight canelo. if he did he would have him on his card and agree to fight him next. if floyd wanted to make more money he would also do this. he doesn't. he's a ducking machine and now you are saying floyd won't fight canelo because he's mad at him. ***s sake you must be dizzy from all that spinning.

Canelo should've fought on the undercard and called Floyd out the old school way. You win in convincing fashion and then in front of the whole world say you want Floyd so every Floyd fan and Boxing fan can hear you. Then after Floyd beats Guerrero Jim Gray puts Floyd on the spot and says what about Canelo?? Now the fight has built a lot of interest.
