During the Taylor fight the commentators said Abraham has 20+ bolts in his jaw as a result of the Miranda fight.

You can talk about anything you want, even things you didn't take part in but you should have more empathy understanding the violence and courage that involves pro boxing.
I have plenty of empathy and understanding.

I just don't let them get in the way of facts.

I have had a very similar break at from when i was at school (two breaks, one at the back where i you can see on the ortiz scan, and one at the front sort of underneath the canines) and i can tell you its no joke. The main problems other than the pain is the amount of blood that fills your mouth, and due to the way your jaw is structured, the inability to properly swallow or spit.

Guys fighting through this stuff is ridiculously couragious but we shouldnt let their bravery become the default setting imo. Ortiz had every right to stop fighting.

That's how I would see it. Maybe a guy could continue with a badly broken jaw, but that doesn't mean he should do it.

Ortiz would have gained serious kudos for fighting on in that condition, but he doesn't lose any for not doing so.

It's not a FACT as you want to make it seem. Did Ortiz technically "quit"? Yes, but it wasn't because of some nonsensical reason, it's because half of his jaw was just hanging by skin and muscle.

You can point to other fighters who fought with broken jaws, some even with the multiple and compound fractures that Ortiz fought with, but he didn't go out like a coward which is the point I'm trying to make.

Look, I fought and I can tell you it's just hard for me to call ANY pro fighter a quitter. Have there been some fighters who quit, sure but I don't call Victor one of them in this specific fight.

Also, do you know the injury he had was bleeding into his body? Doctors said it could have been fatal if not treated.

He deserves the flack he got for quitting against Maidana, but dude jaw was freaking hanging off against Josesito. I'd like to see the tough guys that said he "Quit" against Josesito fight with your jaw hanging off, and he still had to fight about 3 more rounds against a heavy handed fighter in Lopez.
