At this point I think Broner and his team are ready to move to 140 and the only thing holding them back is a potential Burns fight. Its cash.

Dude, this would be a legitimate complaint if he wasn't calling out Burns and ignoring any possibility of Vazquez winning. If he said "I want to fight the winner of Burns-Vazquez" it would be different. Can't you see that? Instead, he's saying I want to fight BURNS, not the guy who may BEAT Burns. No interest in that at all.

I'm sorry, but if you call out a fighter and he gets beat, and you don't even consider fighting the guy who beat him, you're ducking. That's what it's called.

Apparently, in the dreamworld that you guys exist in, your favorite fighters ducking someone is IMPOSSIBLE. It can't happen.

Let me ask you this: he's calling out Burns. If Vazquez wins, why shouldn't Broner fight him instead? What's an acceptable reason for him to skip that fight, in your mind?

Hey man, I agree with you, I'm not saying its right. I'm just explaining why they are doing it like that. They are going for the bigger money fights. No one really fallows Vasquez and very few pick him over Broner. I think more people are interested in seeing him fight at 140 and that's what they are choosing over Vasquez. A lot of people are saying its a duck, but there's a lot of good reasons to say why its not. Vasquez already turned down a Broner fight and no one called him a ducker, because they don't hate him. I'm just putting it in perspective. Vasquez hasn't even beat Burns yeat. Lets waite and see what happens. If he beats Burns in a boring fight, I can see why it doesn't happen. If he beats the hell out of Burns and stops him, then I can see why anyone will call Broner a ducker for not fighting him.

If Vasquez beats Burns and he doesn't at least try to make the fight that's going to look real bad on his part. You will hear about how he ducked Vasquez for the next 10 years. People are going to make Vasquez out to be one of the greatest lightweights of all time.

But I still favor Burns in that fight so I don't think that scenario will happen.

Why aren't they so enthusiastic towards getting the fight with Vazquez as they are with Burns?

Go on and make excuses that Vazquez is boring. I hate watching Vazquez but I rather watch Broner fight Vazquez than Gavin fkin Rees.

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer advised BoxingScene.com that WBC lightweight champion Adrien "The Problem" Broner (26-0, 22KOs) will return on an HBO televised date of June 15th. Schaefer has placed the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on hold. Broner retained his WBC title for the first time on February 16th, with a fifth round TKO of gavin Rees.

Broner's preferred opponent for the slot is obviously WBO champion Ricky Burns. If Burns is able to get past IBF champion Miguel Vazquez (33-3, 13KOs) on March 16th, then Schaefer will attempt to make the fight. If the fight can't be made, Schaefer doesn't rule out the possibility of Broner moving up in weight.

I like Vasquez. He's not pretty but he's effective and he wins fights. I've said that numerous times.

But to me, the reason Broner's team wants the Burns fight is because its the biggest money fight at 135. I guess they don't believe Vasquez brings anything to the table. Either way it will not be a good look if he doesn't fight Vasquez if he beats Burns.
