You're right, he did fight Pac at 140. I thought it was at 147 (so used to Pac being a beast at 147) but I was saying he didn't look good against Collazo at 147. I just don't think Ricky was a good fighter at 147, 140 was his best weight (doesn't really make sense because of all the weight he had to drop to even get down close to those weights to begin with) I think because he was stronger at 140. At 147, he just didn't seem to have the power that he did at 140.

That's what I don't get though. If he and Canelo fighting in September is contingent on both guys winning in May, why not agree to fight him if he wins since most people seem to think that Canelo is gonna get smoked by Trout?

It would be a win-win for Floyd: he looks like he isn't scared of this kid by signing to fight him knowing full well that the odds are that Trout wins anyways, and he doesn't have to even worry about it if Canelo does lose because he has no agreement to fight Trout.

By making up an excuse to not sign the agreement, he looks suspect to me. It seems to me that he thinks Canelo has a good shot to win against Trout.

ricky isnt a good ww win for floyd but he was a great p4p win, leonard fought duran after he moved up,mosley jumped two division to fight dela hoya.

so your saying leonard nor dela hoya should've get credit if they won those fights?

No, I was just responding to the idea that Ricky was afraid of Floyd. If he were afraid of Floyd would he have moved up in weight to fight him?

I went on a tangent responding to other stuff along the way. It's definitely a good name to have on his resume, especially since Ricky was undefeated at the time. There is the fact that Ricky wasn't probably as good of a welter as he was a junior welter but still a good feather in the cap.

Hatton did`nt look good against Collazo because Collazo is a pretty solid fighter.Berto did not look good against Collazo either;heck, most people thought Berto lost that fight.

Canelo is not in a position to make demands for a contract with Mayweather this far out from September.

Canelo is unable to headline his own PPV and that is why mayweather wants him on his undercard to build that fight. Canelo was GOING to get that fight in september, there isnt anyone else out there.

Look at all of the big names mayweather fought before, Corrales, Gatti, DLH, Hatton, Mosley, Cotto, these are all guys that can draw a big crowd on their own and they didnt get advanced contracts with mayweather. Mayweather fought plenty of guys who headlined their own PPV's before fighting him meanwhile canelo on his own is a minimal draw. Freaking Canelo's ego is a problem. He gave up fighting on cinco de mayo and will fight in april on regular showtime instead because he is less interesting than mayweather fighting an american on cinco de mayo and cant go head to head on him because it would tank.

Pac said he wanted to fight Floyd also. But when Larry merchant asked him after the 3rd Marquez fight if he wants to fight Floyd,Pacquiao said talk to my promoter.

Also Pacquiao is the one that turned down 50/50 in the first negotiations cause he did`nt want to get random tested.
