Peterson + Steroids = No Punishment

Berto + Steroids = No Punishment

    Jr. + Weed = Fine + Suspension

It's one of those contradicting laws. Hopefully in the coming years more States make it legal.

However it will probably still be illegal in sports, while having Alcohol, cigarettes and Cigars perfectly legal and promoted during events.
Is it illegal for a fighter to show up drunk to a fight?

Supposedly Jake Lamotta used to do that.

VADA took it off the list I think. Seems ridiculous for it to be something that gets a guy suspended alright.

In the opinion of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, weed IS a drug.

Casinos will shut their doors if Jr never fights there again.LOL. He needs Vegas more than they need him.

I do agree with you though. I think Chavez Jr is silver spoon, talentless bum but weed has absolutely no performance enhancing qualities. 100K fits the crime in my opinion

I think a punishment of paying $900,000 should be referred to as something other than 'a fine'. A fine is when the woman at the video store asks you to pay $3 for bringing the DVDs back late.

He didn't listen. It’s not so much about the substances on the list, but that he did not follow the one simple rule.

People can argue whether weed is bad or not but again there was a list of substances that is prohibited. He didn’t respect the rules so they charged him a percentage of his purse.

Remember this is not the first time he ignored this list of banned substances. Anyway this is not about weed, but about a kid who has shown a trend of not following rules.

If this was just about weed, I have no problem with it. lol
You're right on all points, but the ruling is still excessive. It's downright draconian. Chavez was a dope to ignore the list of banned substances, but 900,000 U.S. dollars? That's net. A fighter would have to earn about 1.5 million dollars to clear 900k. It's far, far too much, in my opinion. And exactly where does that money go?
