      • schaefer's on record on numerous occasions stating he didn't want the fight, trout was too dangerous, but now all of a sudden he's estatic? "it's a done deal, it's a done deal....all it has to do is be finalized"....???.....??? yeah right

            Cuz it won't sell..... duhhh.
Paul Williams could've sold and maybe even Ortiz because of their names (barley Ortiz).

            • Floyd just *****d himself in the ass, nobody is going to buy his worthless fight now, April 20 will be the real 5 de Mayo now, the Mexican boxing community and the world will be watching, Showtime should just drop Maywether's contract and sign Canelo, Canelo wants to fight the best unlike Chicken Floyd.

Floyd actually had to beat good fighters and conquer several weight classes to become a PPV fighter. He didn't have it handed to him because he was a red haired Mexican kid.

I'm happy this is happening though. Trout is the toughest fight at 154 aside from Floyd himself. If Canelo wants to prove himself a big time fighter and wants to put the pressure on Floyd to make that happen, than this was how to do it.

I agree and it's a great point no doubt. Young Floyd worked his way up to the top. Canelo is a big name because he is unique looking for a Mexican boxer and is Mexicans will almost always support our boxers. Not arguing the fact that Canelo has had it easy and not challenged himself at all but let's not act as if he isn't a draw. He can do a PPV headline right now and will do 350k easy.

The real reason his fight with Trout won't be PPV is because Golden Boy won't do that to Floyd. They know that having a PPV for Canelo will hurt Floyd's numbers a bit.
