    People underrate Karass

Karass did a good job in getting to Maidana's body.. Yet Maidana didn't fold and broke him down before finally finishing him

    Maidana wins this I think...

Poor Lopez. Just an average fighter hyped by the Ortiz victory

should have picked Khan as he'd have a punchers chance + get more $$$

Don't see how losing to Khan is worse than losing to Maidana. (Think both of them beat him in great fights)

I like both fights but with Khan there is a weight issue.

Put this on the Peterson-Matthysse undercard in AC which also should feature Alexander-Brooks

Maidana-Lopez will be good, but I think Marcos puts a pretty good beating on him. Certainly not counting out Lopez though, Maidana is no hard guy to hit or outbox.

I believe it will be on the Mares vs Ponce DeLeon card April 20th. Lopez & Maidana are 2 guys who dont need belts or flawless records they will fight anyone to the last breath straight up.

Thats funny to me. You could say the same for Maidana. People act like he's a totally different fighter since he started training with Garcia, I don't see. Yeah jabs a little more but thats about it. He barley got past Corley, struggled against Khan, Old fat Morales, and Kotelnik. Shopworn Soto Karass gave him hell before he was caught with something big, and Alexander just made him look awful. Maidana has power but he's average at best.

This is a very even fight. Maidana was good a 40 but at 47 he isn't quite the same puncher. Ortiz is a big puncher and couldn't get Lopez out before getting his jaw broken and I feel his power translated a little better to 47 so I don't see a stoppage. Lopez is fighting a small welter instead of a big jr middleweight this time so he likely won't see the canvas this time out IMO. Maidana's skill level is not head and shoulders above Lopez either this is going to be a gritty fight. Whoever wants it more will win. Maidana seems overrated to me at 147 I guess because he hasn't faced a legit contender except for when he was dominated by Alexander. Karass is a tier below that level but Lopez has stepped up and won at that level so this fight goes a long way to see where Maidana is in the welterweight picture.

If Maidana can't get past Lopez, he probably needs to consider either retiring, or just facing marginal opponents for a few years in Argentina only. But I seriously doubt Lopez can stand up to Maidana's constant pressure. Yes, Marcos has a little less power at this higher weight, but still, he can punch as hard as Canelo, and that was more than enough to TKO Lopez. This will be a fun action fight though. Can't wait.

I agree with you. I don't see Maidana being as good as people still think he is
