That gives Jones an additional advantage along with the size.

Hopkins doesn't carry a punch to catch Jones, and no way can he muster the workrate Glenn Johnson used to beat Roy.

In short, this has a points win for Jones written all over it.

The real question is, should anyone care enough to be watching it with both fighters coming off losses?
Can you see why a big Roy fan would still want to watch it though? I guess it really depends on who you a fan of. I can see why a boxing fan, who isn't a big Roy fan could careless.

      I agree.

I'm picking RJJ by lackluster decision.

Arafat feels that Roy Jones can't get up to fight anymore.
Arafat feels both fighters are past their best, but expects Hopkins to make the same mistakes he's made in all of his losses.

LMAO!!! Did Arafat see that Roy actually looked like he still had some of that old speed and agility in the third Tarver fight?

            hmm

Roy put himself in a situation vs Tarver that allowed his chin to get tapped. Losing all that weight has permanently affected him. As a result of that muscle loss and subsequent KO, Roy's chin and stamina are not what they used to be. Roy is, at best, 70% of what he used to be.

That is enough to narrowly beat Hopkins in my opinion.

Roy had 11.5% body fat in his first fight with Tarver and was fighting half-dead and he still won 7 rounds to 5 in my opinion (there's no way Tarver won that fight), and in the second fight Roy trimmed himself down to 6% body fat (way better shape) and he didn't have the agony of a toothace and having to starve himself for weeks to make weight. If Tarver didn't land a lucky punch we wouldn't even be talking about Tarver right now because he would be out of the picture. That said, I thought Roy looked still very good last fight (in terms of quickness, strength) but he obviously is a gunshy fighter. If he can relax in the ring he should beat hopkins rather easily. I still don't think hes as shot as everyone thinks.

I wonder why no one ever gives Jones credit for have the year 2003 that he had? He went to heavyweight and beat title holder, then he went back down and won his light heavyweight title back. Thats very impressive in my opinion.
