How Shot Is Roy Jones Jr. ?

How shot is Roy? Do you think he has enough left to beat Hopkins? With one of my favorite boxers getting embaressed last night, I am hoping Roy can atleast win in March. What do you guys think? Am I in for another dissapointment?

I think either way alot of people are in for a big letdown....it should be a even fight for the most part and I personally think Roy will be more agressive than we have seen him in a while because he does not fear Hopkins like he did Tarver. We will see I guess if I had to bet $$ I would say Hopkins by UD because he still looks fresh even in close defeat against a very young, strong fighter.

Hopkins has never been at the weight..Roy has always been faster, stronger and slicker then Hopkins, and plus he didnt look bad the first 6 rounds of Tarver/Roy 3 (i knwo he wasnt throwing but he was moving well etc) so i think you may ahve a good chance at seeing him win..thats the good news..the bad is who recently he has been stating he may fight after..i think he said woods and other LHW if he wins. Cant say my source cuz its another boxing website forum and last tiem i posted somethiing like that it got deleted and i got punished. ...

I am with you on that, I think Roy should retire after Hopkins. And Hopkins should retire too, it should be a farewell fight for both.

Dear god lets hope,I am quite sure Hopkins will go but I am still unsure what Roys motives may be if he wins.

unfortunately roy's best days are waaay behind him..i mean the roy at 168 never even compared to the roy at 175...let alone the roy of today.

i remember when he used to fire off combinations so fast his opponents would turtle up because they couldn't counter...now he can't even consistently pot shot one shot at a time. it's sad, but life goes on. there wil be other boxers...

Roy is faded, but so is Hopkins. He's turning 41 this month.

That gives Jones an additional advantage along with the size.

Hopkins doesn't carry a punch to catch Jones, and no way can he muster the workrate Glenn Johnson used to beat Roy.

In short, this has a points win for Jones written all over it.

The real question is, should anyone care enough to be watching it with both fighters coming off losses?

Yeah, you know what I realize more and more about Roy? HE REALLY MUST LOVE TO BOX! Everyone always said he never had any passion for boxing, but he keeps on fighting. I highly doubt he needs the money, Roy is financially set I think. But he needs to stop because he may get hurt if he doesn't. Fighters have a hard time leaving the spotlight.
