I'm not sure that he will but if anybody at 140 can beat matthysse it's garcia..

people tend to forget that garcia always stays patient and composed...even when judah managed to buzz him late and khan was putting a beating on him early he never got discouraged from his gameplan and executed it well

peterson, alexander and even dallas jr and olsegun got discouraged that way and that's when matthysse was able to take over

that being said danny really needs to sharpen up on his defense...it's the only way he can manage to outbox matthysse to win a decision...judah showed how defense can somewhat neutralize matthysse's power although he wasn't particularly active offensively which danny is

No I'm not comparing all I did was correct you the reason he got hurt at the end by Judah was from fatigue he wasn't even flinching the first 9 rounds. Now I agree matthysse power is much more than Judah n could hurt garcia but I don't believe he can just walk through garcias punches n not be hurt especially his hook

All I'm saying is it won't be easy for either you guys talk like it will be a massacre. If garcia can't hurt Lucas then it can get ugly I agree with that.

Your comparin a way past his best Zab to Matthyse? I know your a Garcia fan but if he gets hit that cleanly by Lucas he'ss going down plain and simple.

He wouldn't be able to keep Matthyse off of him and he's not a good enough boxer to outbox him. He likes to stand and trade and punch with you, and thats a bad recipe against Matthyse.

Peterson was ssupposed to be able to outbox hime because that was one of his strong suits andrough him up inn the clinch. He wasn't able to keep Lucas off him and got man handled inn the clinch.

No he wasn't, not true at all. Peterson may play the role of boxer but he has never been good at it, he excelled at applying pressure on the inside, his body punching and being able to smother his opponents' attack.

At the end of the day people are putting Matthysse in too high of a pedestal, he has not faced a puncher like Garcia, one who counters that well either, this seems to be flying over peoples head. Maybe it's the recent victory but still.

Exactly! Garcia likes to stand in and punch with you, and thats gonna get him sparked againstt Matthyse.

Like you said it's a bad style for Danny.

I have only seen him do that with fighters that he believed couldn't handle his power (morales, khan), he's flat footed yes but he doesn't stand there and punches with a puncher...he didn't even do that with holt

i know danny can box i seem him as an amateur but as a pro his temperament and style is to exchange with fighters. as a pro he has fallen in love with his power which is pretty good but not as good as lucas matthyse who has out of this world power. im pulling for danny in this fight but wouldnt bet on him. the way i see the fight going is danny trying to box but after around 3 ronnds the constant pressure will force him to do what comes natural to him and ****, and matthyse is not a guy you want to **** with. with that said i think he has the capability to win but in all likelyhood he loses by knockout.

Matthyse's power is unreal at 140. I thought he would beat Peterson, but I didn't think he would in that manner.

I don't know if you saw the thread earlier but Steve Smoger was saying that Matthyse hit's harder than anyone he has been in the ring with at 140 that included Khan at his best,Garcia,Judah,Alexander, and Maidana. When he said Maidana I was impressed, cause Maidana can ****!

I think he does to be honest, I could see Matthyse falling in love with his power and forgetting his fundamentals like a lot of power punchers in the past.
