Mayweather said the same **** about passing the torch to Devon Alexander a few yrs ago & he ended up as nothing special and hyped up after all.

I have to say he's got it wrong here. Greatness isn't about mimicking someone else. It's about reaching your potential and overcoming tough challenges in the process. Broner can still become great without adopting Floyd's defense-priority style.

Great words Floyd. Broner is the future, and there will come a time when he will have to walk through bullets to get where you've got. He has the skills, but does he have the intestinal fortitude. Only time will tell.

So Leonard didn't use sugar ray robinson name and also used the ali shuffle and bolo punch?
So Roy jones didn't use the same bolo punch and Ali style with the left hand down to his waist?
So Kobe Bryant didn't use all of MJ's moves?
I can go on and on.Last edited by BIGBOXINGFAN; 02-24-2013, 10:25 PM.

Broner has the tools he needs to be great in his own right but he isn't Floyd (not saying he can't be better than him)...
They have similarities but they have clear differences as well...I don't think Broner's footwork is nowhere near as good as Floyd's...and Floyd's inside game is superior...
Broner fights like Floyd has recently but nothing like Floyd did back in his 130-135 days...
I think Broner is a very good fighter and I'm a fan but I'm still waiting for him to beat someone who I felt has a GOOD chance at beating him...I never thought DeMarco would...my mind might change if he beats Rios or Marquez

Broner has to test himself. He should fight burns/vasquez winner, then move to 140 where rios, khan, garcia, judah, matthysse, and peterson are.
