Wouldn't it be funny if Geurrero stole the torch from Mayweather and then fights Broner. Sounds like a funny possibility to me. I'd like to see that fight actually since guerrero called him out to his face

Doesn't matter, he's one of the most dominant fighters in the sport today. A lot of people argue he's the best boxer on the planet, no matter how popular he is.

I'm interested to see how Broner can pull of Mayweather-style PPV's without a network which calls him the P4P king of the sport. HBO did that with Pac and Mayweather, and so you had all the celebrities etc going to their fights, as any celebrity fight fan wants to be seen as the fights of the best in the sport. Can you really achieve Mayweather's level of popularity without being the best in the sport? I honestly don't think so.

HBO could get behind Ward and make him popular, quite easily. Not a superstar, but if they propel the idea hes the best in the sport, and get him fights in LV, people will go watch him. And with Floyd currently signed with Showtime, they may try to in the near future

I know what you mean, but i'm not sure I agree. Mayweather has popularity for several reasons. People feel passionate about him. Either love or hate. But not many feel indifference toward him. Ward is the nice guy, but he doesn't have the silky skills or the personality to make him popular. Put it this way, I will stay up until 6 in the morning to watch Mayweather fight. But i'm more than happy to check the result of a ward fight online the next day. He rarely knocks people out, hasn't been in any exciting fights, headbutts, holds, clinches, runs - basically everything a popular boxer never does. It's interesting that Froch & Kessler will make roughly double for their fight, than Ward was paid against Dawson, his best payday. And I doubt that will change.

I think Broner stole Floyds thunder on HBO and he moved to Showtime. Now he is trying to play damage control by saying hes passing a torch.
When in fact Broner came and stole his torch. The one that wasnt lit.
