Why does Lamont Peterson always get a pass or the benefit of the doubt?

Because he was That Poor Black homeless Child The Corrupt left wing ******* Media adores even though they'l pick your wallet or snatch your purseVictor Ortiz vs. Lamont Peterson
The vast majority had Ortiz winning the fight.
Result: The fight somehow gets concluded as a draw.
Amir Khan vs. Lamont Peterson
A close fight in which the majority had Amir winning the fight (Including the two deducted points).
Result: Lamont Peterson gets the win
Lamont Peterson gets caught using steroids
Lamont gets caught with steroids because of random drug testing. Evidence shows that Lamont had an abnormally high testosterone level in his December 10th fight against Khan. Lamont most likely thought that the enhanced testosterone level was back to normal. He was wrong. It takes a longer period for the testosterone level to turn back to their normal level.
Result: Lamont doesn't get suspended, he can keep his purse money and the IBF lets him keep the belt.
Lamont Peterson fights Kendall Holt
The broadcasters portray him as the victim of the system and he gets a pass for using steroids in the Khan fight.
What is it about Lamont that either gets him the benefit of the doubt or a pass in his wrongdoings?
Is it because of his tough upbringing story?
Because he is an American? It's not uncommon for American athletes to use performance enhancement drugs. See for example boxers like Tony, Holyfield, Vargas and Mosley. Lance Armstrong being one of the biggest cheaters in the history of any sport.
Or is it simply because of his puppy wuppy eyes?

I thought Peterson lost vs Ortiz and Khan (Even though the Khan fight was much closer).
Peterson is the wild card in that weight class. We really don't know how he will stand up to the best of the division. His style gives people problems, he's stronger than people give him credit for.Comment

Ortiz coulda taken Lamont out but lacked the heart to go for it
fuck him, glad he didn't get the win
Khan got robbed something terrible, Lamont clearly lost that one
it was a hometown call, pretty obvious with the ref's calls
he destroyed Holt, so no "benefit of the doubt" neededComment

we live in a country where one is innocent until proven guilty... WBA stripped Lamont without really giving him a chance to clear his name... The IBF waited and when all the facts were on the table... they were satisfied enough to let lamont keep his belt... most fighters have gotten second chances, not just americans...Originally posted by wazaa.Victor Ortiz vs. Lamont Peterson

i thought Peterson came back in the ortiz fight after the knockdowns to win almost every round... even though i had ortiz narrowly winning...i can see a case for a draw... no "wrong doing" here....
i scored the khan fight for peterson... everyone complains about the points taken from khan... no one talks about the bull**** knockdown... i thought lamont edged khan in a close fight... i think peterson would have won the rematch in easier fashion...
lamont is still a problem at 140.
