After all his drug shame it would have been difficult to ease him on to a big pay just like that, I could see they are trying to ease Pederson back into the fold hoping people would forget about his drug shame and focus on his fighting, This is just his first fight back so let's see in the next 2 or 3 fights what he makes.

Because it was on ESPN FNF, not HBO or Showtime, against a low quality opponent. And he really shouldn't be getting a huge payday directly after testing positive.

Also, the money from the gate was probably decent so he got paid more than that.

That was due to a purse bid. SHaw (holts promoter) won the bid with $50,000 and that gave a 75/25 split to the champ.

Oddly Peterson's promoter (no idea who it was) didnt bid at all allowing Shaw to win such a low amount
