Like any other monster puncher in his weight class, he is going to be hype by fan boys.

TS talent appreciation is peculiar. He sees in Ricky Hatton what others dont see, but he cant see Lucas skills set.

He definitely deserves a title shot in 140 he's earned that, but he's not this God a lot of y'all make him out to be
      exactly how i feel

Both his losses are political. Cause neither Alexander, nor Judah beat Mattysse. He's earned every accolade given to him. To make a thread about him & hype is crazy, considering there are in fact fighters who've been given titles & bogus defenses while being called the 2nd best in deep divisions even though they've never, ever beaten any prime top fighters there. Mattysse is not 1 of those guys.
I think it's a little harsh to call Matthysse a "hypejob". The guy delivers every time he fights even in "defeats" and is working his way up the hard way. Oh and btw, he's not fighting buncha irrelevant bums like a lot of these guys nowadays.

I've read he'd knock out Pacquiao, Marquez at 147 and is a better fight for Floyd than Guerrero. Peterson has zero chance against him, Garcia is ducking him[although Garcia himself just blew up], he was robbed against Judah although it was a close fight that I had Judah winning by one point and most sensible fans agree it was just a close fight.

This guy is the most overrated fighter right now, surpassing Golovkin.

Putting his in-ring accomplishments aside, the dude is chill. He makes no outlandish claims; he simply wants to fight for a belt.

In-ring, I don't see how you can deny he has skill; he's surprisingly elusive, has a solid chin (someone link that video of him grinning after getting smashed by a Judah upercut), and clearly has power (Alexander/Judah debates aside, he still knocked them both down, fair and square, no foot-stepping-push-tripping ****).

As ****m says, "If you can punch you don't need no tassels on your shorts."

Matthysse does it all in the ring, no need for any clowning outside of it. There is no 'hype' around him because he doesn't stir it up. All the respect and attention he's got, he's got it in the ring.

A lot of posters on sites like this aren't very knowledgeable though and they can't get excited about someone unless he's raps terribly, beats his wife etc.

They're not really watching for the boxing.

Those same guys who say Matthysse is a hypejob will tell you his just another face first brawler.
