He'll have seen tapes of less skilled opponents lunging wildly and getting caught.

That will have no role in how Rigo fights, seing as he's not one of those lesser skilled fighters who will do that. We're talking about a world class fighter with a history of winning, he's coming for the W.

please dont compare him to wilfredito the electritian vasquez

nada que ver huevon, you talking about a guy that has been in the ring since he was 7 to a guy that picked up some gloves while he was working as a electritian as a hobby.
Lots of people seem to think Rigo is going to make this a boring fight. I'm sure they base that on those six rounds in the Cordoba fight. But Guillermo doesn't fight that way. I'm at a loss as to why he responded the way he did versus Ricardo. My best explanation is that he was simply inexperienced as a pro. I expect Rigo to fight somewhat carefully against Donaire, but I would be highly disappointed, to say the least, if Guille ran around and made the fight boring.

I've watched enough of Donaire's fights to see that he's not especially accurate and that he gets hit pretty easily. I've also seen him go into retreat mode when a shot bothered him. What sticks in people's minds, however, are those big knockouts of his. There is no doubt, that leaves an impression. But that's the point: People forget Nonito's weaknesses because they're blinded by his strengths. They fail to read the other side of the ledger. If Rigo is able to counter Nonito's many misses (something he's quite capable of doing), this might turn into a very surprising contest for many people.

          Absolutely.

Nonito is quick and he hits hard, but he throws a good amount of wild power shots that do leave him open...not to mention no opponent has ever landed higher than 16% against Rigo. There are a good few members thinking he can get away with that here because Rigo doesn't have power...I have no idea where that perception has come from seing as every one of his opponents have been put on their ass.

He got hurt plain and simple.

That's the lazy explanation. I've looked at that knockdown many times over, and I'm convinced Rigo could not have been hurt. In the Marroquin fight, Guillermo took two solid left hooks from a good puncher, got rocked, but fought on. There's no way that Cordoba jab physically affected Rigo the way those two left hooks did.

                  Wonder why he ran then.

Cordoba is a pretty good puncher and an experienced guy.

Rigo clearly played it safe, and didn't engage.

I think Cordoba can punch and being a lefty it threw Rigo off.

I think he saw Marroquin's punches better.

It's truly laughable. Rigo can crack. He might not have the same kind of one-punch power Donaire possesses, but he has some serious pop. Guillermo is more than capable of knocking out Nonito if he catches him with a good shot and then quickly follows up with a barrage of punches, as we've seen him do. Or, he might just land one precision liver punch and it's Donaire in a fetal position on the canvass, painfully and helplessly listening to a ten count.

I think you are right and the odds will get tighter as the fight gets closer. I think I am going to have to make a bet on Rigo sooner than later otherwise I won't get good value.
